Man Utd will spend wildy this summer out of pure desperation. Let's just hope that their manager has a crazy spree on utter sh*te like Kenny and Comolli did for us and set them back another 2-3 years.
who knows........ felliani is as forgivable as joe allen and borini... if we can forgive rodgers then they should forgive moyes right. maybe mata is his sturridge
£27m for Fellaini is laughable. Even more so when they could have got him for less had they met his release clause in time LOL!
well yes that much for a right donkey is terrible but utd could afford it and we paid 15 for allen which is as bad relatively. the release clause issue for me really points to moyes actually wanting fabregas in his delusions and he did want felliani and basically threw 27 mil at everton cos he'd got no-one. but still going for who know know is what hodgson did and rodgers did so lesson learned here too.
The problem is that Moyes didn't really need those players, he listened to others too much saying united needed a better midfield. Mata is a good player but he plays in a similar position to rooney and no massive improvement to the squad, Felani is no better than carrick so was a pointless buy. So now United go into the summer Rio, Evra and Vidic are off they have no replacements as smalling and jones not good enough, they need a whole new defence!! that will take time to bed in so you can pretty much right next season off too. On top of that looks like Van Percy and chic might go as well so they need 2 new strikers, and nani and young are terrible. If you think about it Moyes has probably more to do at utd than BR had to do at LFC. I find it more than a little ironic that Liverpool are now adopting a counter attacking style that requires less dominance in midfield at the same time as utd who used the same tactic so well under AF are going the oposite way.
I think this is down to the players Rodgers has at his disposal. I still do not believe this is how Rodgers wants to play but it is nice that we have this 'plan b' to use. Personally, I think the 5-0 win against Spurs was the perfect Rodgers performance - complete domination.
you are right.... ok mata is quality and probably better than kagawa honestly BUT moyes uses neither in the no 10 role as he should. And again felliani was a decent younger holding player converted into a donkey target man by moyes so unless he's going to convert him into a holding player once more (which i doubt) it was a terrible buy. but i think mata is quality so its up to utd to find how to make the front 3 work great. You are right that they need to rebuild the defense.
Born: (age 20) June 4, 1993 Buenos Aires, Argentina Height: 1.69 m Weight: 62 kg Position: F Too small for my taste.
Just saw a youtube video of Iturbe. Cracking left foot - but maybe a bit too eager to shoot? Strong and compact physically ala Aguero and Maradona. So, it may not be an issue of small, but an issue of him being better suited as a striker than a winger/provider (haven't seen his passing/crossing game). If we go with Iturbe, then we aren't going for Kono I suppose.
too eager to shoot.. read bale and ronaldo there. Suarez likes to shoot it early and often. no idea myself
He's worth a gamble - I don't suppose he will be too expensive either. He looks strong like a little bull, is most likely mentally tough, and has a blistering left foot. No idea about the rest of his game, but a gamble that could work well. I wonder what his price could be.
One of the brightest youngsters playing in Europe, and is playing for Porto are usually sell for big money. Only 20 but a very good player already who has potential to become world class. I would like to go for Kono and Iturbe. Rodgers clearly likes versatile players and these two can play in a number of positions.
£10m? Surely, not more than that. He's only twenty with barely a senior year under him. I'm not sure we should acquire two forwards, unless we get money from selling all the rest - Aspas, Suso, Borini, Assaidi.
Looks a good little player but must admit not really seen anything of him apart from a few clips. Seems strange that if he was that good Porto would loan him out to Verona?
Linked with Adriano from Barca for LB option. At 29, wouldn't be a long term solution but decent back up and first team challenger for Enrique. Also with Menez from who's contract is expiring at the end of the season. Could be a good freebie. Kono is being linked with a move to PSG at the end of the season. Can't really compete on the money side so depends what he wants really.
