Moreno deal is dead, again: Liverpool Echo: Liverpool FC's bid to sign Alberto Moreno from Sevilla has collapsed, with the club now set to pursue alternative targets. The Reds had been keen to bring the Spanish international left back to Anfield, but have been left frustrated in their efforts to agree a fee with the La Liga club. A bid of £16m was turned down back in May, with Sevilla holding out for more than £20m. Liverpool had hoped to use Iago Aspas as a makeweight in negotiations, but though the striker completed a loan move to Seville on Monday, the Moreno deal now looks highly unlikely. That means Brendan Rodgers will turn his attentions to alternatives, with Swansea City's Ben Davies now top of his list. The Reds boss had initially drawn up a three-man shortlist, topped by Moreno, for the left back position at the start of the summer. Since then, though, Guilherme Siqueira has moved to Atletico Madrid, while a move for Ryan Bertrand has been complicated by Chelsea's reluctance to sell to a Premier League title rival. Not overly fussed about Moreno, but pretty depressing that Bertrand and Davies were the next on the list. SO AVERAGE.
As per usual you don't post your s**tty source, but lol at the stat that supposedly has Henderson as ahead of Nasri, Ozil, Ramsey and Barkley, f**ing lmao at you.
I had that in mind but obviously we'd need to see a few more and maybe against a team or two not so easily molested....
No you won't, you'll insist that any success he has will be the result of a teammate and then call him a chaser.
We had No Suarez first five games of the season, in which we started well. Yeah he was incredible last season but were not dependant on him, seeing as he scored zero goals against Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal he wasn't there when we needed him most. But back on Hednerson, he was incredible last season, what he lacks in technical ability he shines in athleticism, we don't claim him to be a Xavi and never will, but he does what we need to do very well, anyone who can't see that is just not worth discussing anymore.
Official Premier League stats http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...paramItemsPerPage=40¶mSelectedPageIndex=1
What when he made 31 PL appearances and 41 in total for the reigning league champions you mean. Don't talk ****e
Yep, it's not hard to think of a tonne of better options than those names, I have no idea why they're being overlooked. Surely Blind wouldn't even cost that much considering he plays in Holland.
Just shows what meaningless bollocks that table is, Noble better than Barkley? Hahahahaha ****ing melt
I'd have thought a similar price to what we've offered for Moreno already, £18mish. Bertrand is gash, loan at Villa last season was so anonymous can't believe we still interested. Davies is a kid who played alright but doesn't look anything special. Low ambitions on those two.
Reality check: Barkley achieved **** all last season. He was a bit part player in an also-ran team. You don't get extra points for being the only source of optimism to #bitters Noble played 40% more than Barkley. I guess the stats don't record how inspiring players are when sitting on a bench though.
If you take WC games as a guide to Hendo, then Evertons defence this year with Jag and Baines is not looking good, they'll have to hope there are some good loaners left come the close of the window
Hendo has a certain potential, i think most are realistic in the heights he is capable of achieving. He made massive advances last season and if this continues he looks like achieving what people expect, if not exceeding. Barkley is being touted as the next great thing, he has played a bit part in one season, just have to wait and see if he pushes on next season, he has a lot more to do to reach the potential some are expecting of him. Hopefully he will maybe achieve this and then he can be sold to a bigger club and give Everton some money to buy a few players, and not just loan, saying that what happened to the Fellaini money? It is a risk for Everton not to cash in now, especially with it appearing to be a real silly money transfer window, but for the sake of Barkley's development i hope he stays for a year or two yet. If he was to move to say Man City, he would just disappear into their squad, a move to us would be a good move though.
All this talk of Hendo taking over the Gerrard role - I think Can was the man brought into to do this. Henderson will become more of a box to box, as he usually is. Rodgers has said he will be resting Gerrard a lot this season, and that's when I expect Can to step in and make appearances. He's the perfect understudy for Gerrard, big strong lad, good vision, good in the tackle and has the ability to spray long balls. So I expect the games that Gerrard sits out (on the bench) Can will be picked to play that role. He's 20 loads of experience and is used to that position.
And so the bidding begins http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ave-bid-for-Swanseas-Ben-Davies-rejected.html
He made 34 appearances in the League for the side that finished 5th, was widely regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in the game and netted 6 times.........but Noble was patently better. lol. You calling anyone #bitter, is hugely ironic btw....
