ie Moreno and maybe Lukaku type thing? no CB? also we need to get rid of a few,so no need to get replacements for players ie Lucas,Johnson (hopefully),aspas,Assiadi etc. saying that, we could get rid of them and maybe get £20 mill odd hopefully, and if we are in a good position come jan with not spending all the luis money, it could help for remainder of season if we can add some decent talent to the squad.
No-one can be certain how new signings will turn out, no matter how much money you spend. The wisest policy would be to buy whoever the club thinks will make the best team (subject to availability, desire to play for us etc) without spunking too much of the dosh. Then, if it isn't working, we'll still have a decent wodge to give us another chance to put it right (or improve)in January.
Turan, Shaquiri, Moreno, those are better shouts with the money we have. Can go straight into the first team and probably not even have to go above 20 mil to get them.
Ya, probably so. Again, I trust Brendan but really was hoping to get a few in the category of CL standard, straight into the first team, not just depth and maybe a starter. I like Can though, think he will find his way into the team quickly. Lambert I am fine with, the price, the passion, knows his role and will do a job. Just the Lallana one gets me. 25 mil ffs.
Cant believe the players we are being linked with, bertrand bony some pool fans seem to think they would be decent signings, fsg need to be more ambitious we are in the champions league next season for f***sake we need higher calibre players, players like james, firmino, isco robben etc not bloody wilfred bony. And dont say we cant get those players because we can!!
Well I'd rule out Robben and James. Robben is 30 and would cost a bomb, not worth it. James would cost what we just got, or close to, for Suarez and only seems interested in going to Spain (Real) But yes I agree our targets seem to be very unambitious and players we could have got without CL. Perhaps with the WC ending and players back on club duty we might up our targets. Would be disappointed if at the end of the window we've lost Suarez and ended up with Bony, Bertrand and Lovern (would be good with Markovic)
It's in The Mirror and there is only one paper I trust less But still, gives us something to talk about...
Rodriguez as the "perfect replacement for Suarez" Unless they're talking about James and not Jay. Vorm for £6m when we have no one lined up wanting Reina? I'd rather get Shaqiri (£15m), Markovic (£20m), Moreno (£15 + Aspas), Mascherano (£15m) & Auerier (£10m). That's £75m of Suarez money. Mascherano might be a bit optimistic at that price though as doubt he'd leave Barca. If not Masch then maybe go all out on Khedeira for £30m. Covers the LB, RB, CM and 2 wide options.
In summary... Lambert: £4m Lallana: £25m Emre Can: £10m Total: £39m plus Jay Rodriguez: no price Alberto Moreno: no price Ben Davies: no price Lazar Markovic: £20m Dejan Lovren: no price Michel Vorm: £6m Divock Origi: no price Wilfried Bony: £19m Since its claiming £135m spending spree but doesn't make it clear whether that includes the already signed trio, that second bunch could be £135m or £96m
You think they put that much thought into it? More like, get the office new boy to pick a random number between £100 and £150 and stick an "m" on the end of it
