Thats true. For as good as a season Henderson had, he needs to drive forward and be confident and most importantly score more.
Cheers for the info. Sky said a CB so if he's like Vertonghen and can play both CB & LB that would be handy. Interesting h was released by you guys rather than turned down a contract. Some players need that change of club just to freshen things up and then they strive under them. Hopefully he does a decent enough job in his 2 years to get a longer stint. Young goalkeepers are so hard to judge. They're often playing against far weaker opposition (under 21's who most only ever go on to play League 1 or Champ football at best) and then they never really get a chance at that club. I can't think of the last GK we had who came through our youth ranks? Most young keepers are better off going to clubs lower down the league where they will play games at the age of 20 and then working their way up from there.
This. Lambert will play his part, but I don't he's prolific enough - and he won't play enough - to reach double figures. Also depends on how much game time Borini gets.
Thanks for that. If they just don't cut it in the PL then we'll presumably let them move on to where they fit in better.
well i do hope southampton can do good business. I am sure however that ok Shaw is just one LB but if you take 4/5 players out of a side... lovern and sniederlin... we finding 5 good replacements is very very hard and then just to incorporate in? I will be surprised if southampton are top 10 this year... but i am hopefully they stay up and come back stronger. by all means take 50mil spend on 5 player and bank 30-40 odd mil too boot but its hard.
few frees etc and I'd be happy to see a few assists. I do agree he's in for weekend and cup games.. as in there'll be 6-8 league games he'll have to come into around CL and i would expect and hope a good few cup games. As we are seeded third in group i kind of expect a europa run in 2015 to boot so that will be all his. we'll see. double figures... yeah when lukaku can barely do it its always hard
Rumour mill says Man Utd have made a £30M bid for Cuadrado, but Fiorentina want £40M. Be disappointed if either of those things are true as he's quality and we won't be paying £40M for him. Keep hearing talk of Ryan Bertrand which would be really depressing. He really did nothing to impress at Villa but it seems like Rodgers really like his Chelsea youth team players so it's worrying plausible. If Ricardo Rodriguez isn't a possibility then Rojo looks like a very solid defensive addition. Maxi Periera is worse than Glen Johnson. Really hope that doesn't happen either.
Sell Suarez for 60 milion and buy Betrand, Rodriguez, Rojo and Periera. And keep Johnson. #strengthinnumbers
haha I'd be delighted with Rodriguez or Rojo though, even if it took a big chunk of the Suarez money to bring them in.
I'd say more Zeki Fryers than Vertonghen, Jan is primarily a CB who can operate LB, where as Stewart and Fryers are primarily LB's who can operate CB (Fryers has probably looked better at CB actually). I noticed people say on twitter that Stewart is supposedly a boyhood Liverpool fan so there could be something in that as to why he was released and joined you immediately. Yeah completely agree with that on young keepers, way too hard to judge. Goalkeeper is probably the hardest position to succeed in mainly because getting that chance to play is so hard to come by. He is a Chile youth international though so you'd think his pedigree for his age is pretty good He had a loan at Hyde FC this season, think the reviews were mainly positive.
Reading rumours than we're going to sell Suarez and are not interested in Sanchez. That would be a massive mistake, surely? If we sell our only truly world-class player and in no way try to replace him, we can't but regret it come next season. Buying Origi is fine, but if we're not going to see him for a year then he's irrelevant to next season. Is BR really going to risk playing Sturridge, Borini and Lambert as our only out-and-out strikers? In league, champions league and cup competitions? Some rumours about a possible move for Bony, but again, not really like-for-like for Suarez. We really need an industrious, tricky and great finishing striker. As RHC mentioned yesterday there is no real replacement for Suarez out there, but I'd wager Sanchez is the closest we'd find, so I'd be amazed -- well flabbergasted, really! -- if we're truly not interested.
If he doesn't want to come, should we really go all out for someone whose heart's not in it? Not every player has the same work ethic (or other ethics ) of Suarez; I don't know how Sanchez rates in this department. Presumably we're looking for ways to improve the team though, i.e. to compensate for Suarez's departure. On another note, not heard anything about The Plank for a while. Is that dead now?
i imagine so, think if anything, and this will be ****ing depressing, he will be a last resort ie couldn't get other targets.
Yeah, I'd rather not have a player who doesn't want to play for us. Hopefully, we sign a LB, one of Moreno, Rodriguez, or Rojo. Although, not heard paper talk about LBs for a while (Except Bertrand! ), and Shaquiri talks are also quiet. Hopefully, we'll see some more transfer movement in the next week or so.
