It was a harsh penalty but it was still poor defending by Lovren. I'm not a big fan of him but Rodgers and co appear to be big fans so I can try and see the positives - he's young (only 24), vocal, good experience and can play on both sides in central defence.
Good, then we'll stop being linked with him. Looked out of his depth versus Brazil, even though they the South Americans didn't even get out of 2nd gear. Actually, neither team did.
Shaqiri rumours picking up again. Di Marzio saying we've held talks. Really hope this one materialises.
Makes me laugh that posters call him **** and over rated. You can guarantee those same posters would be jumpimg for joy if we somehow managed to actually sign him!
Depends how much we got him for. I do not think he is anywhere near worth the £50m Barca paid. Oh... and FFS
Exactly Neymar is a good player but is definitely overrated. He certainly has the potential to become a great - 30 odd international goals in just 50 is outstanding. But at this moment in time, I'd rather have Sterling in my attack than Neymar.
Even for £10m and modest wages I wouldn't want to introduce a big ego into a settled attack. He wouldn't be happy on the bench and he's not getting in ahead of Suarez so why bother with the trouble? Signing him would be an awful step backwards and more of a gimmick signing like Chelsea would make than a sound footballing decision.
Neymar is over rated. Massively over rated. But he is still a quality player. I don't obssess over him him at really, its just a "greez" thing lol I would love him at Liverpool though but agree on the fee & wages point too. Realistically, its never going to happen. PS...30+ goals in 15/16 appearances is some going. Sure, most the sides he's faced are **** but his record (at this stage) destroys the likes of Ronaldinho, Romario and even Ronaldo!
Agree Gez - he's a good player at the moment, still raw but with bags of potential. Now, going back to Shaqiri - let's hope we pull this one off. Apparently Bayern are after €20m for him which equates to roughly £16-17m which would be great business IMO. Perfect for Rodgers's system.
