Ofcourse they can, but i highly doubt it would be next season. Buying a whole new squad wouldn't guarantee top4. You only have to look at Spurs and their spending spree. United have far too many first teamers to be replaced and it would be near impossible to break in to the top4 the very next season. As i said, the current top 4 have a settled squad and will only be improved further. I could see Spurs being more of a threat for top 4 teams than Utd.
that is a good point.... and it took city a lot of learning to get there. near impossible though? wenger is still there at arsenal to lead hi team to implosion in feb and i fear for LFC in this alomost expectation of 4th all of a sudden.
What do united have to learn? Lesson one. Dont do what moyes did. Lesson 2. Profit. We need 3 or 4 players. About tge same as everyone around us. Our out goings are sorted already. Neither city, chelsea or spurs started from our position. None of them are the biggest club in england and none were or are the biggest name in the land. Ive asked many times. Would people expect players to say no to real, bayern or barcelona after a bad season? Nope. They wont to united either.
Liverpool winger Luis Alberto could return to Spain to join Malaga on loan, according to the Daily Mail. The 21-year-old signed for the Reds for £7m from Sevilla last summer but failed to nail down a regular starting slot.
good. i hope he does ok so we can ce coup the cash.... sorry but the boy has no engine. the best players we got out of spain all have get up and go. I have not yet seen him adjust to the pace nor show the drive of others... even luis garcia or arbeloa had it. he is talents but i am not sold on him as a result of this lacking. Experience with malaga might toughen him up though...
Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed Liverpool's interest in full-back Alberto Moreno and he has told any player wanting to leave the club they can do so for the right price. Moreno is being strongly linked with a move away from the club this summer, along with midfield star Ivan Rakitic. It has long been suggested that Liverpool are in pole position to land 21-year-old Moreno - who has just missed out on a place in Spain's World Cup squad. And Castro has now admitted that Liverpool are indeed interested in taking Moreno. "It's true that there's interest from Liverpool and we're waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now, it isn't," Castro told the club's television channel. Castro insists that the club will not be forced to sell Moreno or Rakitic cheaply, and has denied ongoing reports that the club need to sell in order to bolster their finances. He said: "What I'm clear about is that we'll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla. "Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we'll be the ones setting the prices. "This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don't need to sell. "We're going to be firm about this and we'll only consider selling outside the market, which gives us the opportunity to make our team competitive." Rakitic On Rakitic, he confirmed talks were ongoing over a new deal - despite the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and champions Atletico Madrid all reportedly readying offers for the Croatian. But Castro did admit to being 'frustrated' with Rakitic over the fact he is yet to sign his deal. "The contract renewal offer to Rakitic is really important to us, as a part of our budget for the next season. We want Rakitic to stay so that the team remains powerful, we really want him to stay," he continued. "Rakitic still has a year left on his contract and we'll have to analyse what comes. The truth of the matter is that many months have gone by, since we reached an agreement with him and he's still not signed. We're frustrated about that and I am particularly." http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-confirm-liverpool-interest-in-alberto-moreno I hope we get this lad

Haha like that'll happen. All he wants is Champions League so not much point going to United is there? And also £65m? **** off.
Liverpool FC 's hopes of signing Alberto Moreno have been bolstered by Sevilla president Jose Castro declaring he won’t stand in the way if the full-back wants to leave. But the Spanish side have warned they will only sell the sought-after 21-year-old for the right price. Liverpool have put together a £16million bid for Moreno and are prepared to offer Spanish youngster Suso as a makeweight in the deal. Brendan Rodgers has pinpointed Moreno, who helped Sevilla win the Europa League last month and narrowly missed out on a place in Spain’s World Cup squad, as the answer to the Reds’ problematic left-back berth. And Sevilla president Castro has confirmed Liverpool’s pursuit of the player. “It’s true that there’s interest from Liverpool and we’re waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now, it isn’t,” he said. Castro denied recent suggestions Sevilla’s financial position means they need to sell to raise funds, but admits the club will cash in on players who express a desire to depart. “What I’m clear about is that we’ll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla,” said Castro. “Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we’ll be the ones setting the prices. “This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don’t need to sell. “We’re going to be firm about this and we’ll only consider selling outside the market, which gives us the opportunity to make our team competitive.” Moreno has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Napoli, who had an offer for the defender rejected earlier this year.
uhh I hope not...Not for 18 million! that's a ****load of dosh for a decent/inexperienced FB. Enrique by all means is better, just have to see how he does after his injury. A couple games in Preseason would tell. I think RB is a more pressing need. But thought we've already submitted a bid for this guy. Doesn't seem like it though.
Looks like Caulker is joining Soton which means Lovren could be on his way here. Which also means we'll spend £20m on Caulker when we decide to sign him next season.
good move for caulker who didn't preciselu shore up cardiffs defense. the logic leap that lowern is available is ok but i think still a stretch
