Less likely to bag 20 a season if he thinks he’s too good to put the effort in or all his teammates hate him and don’t pass him the ball or are all demotivated by having him in the team. Hypothetical and, as I say, all based on Twitter hearsay alone so I probably wouldn’t put too much stock in it, but it’s just to demonstrate why personality and being a good fit for the team is important and it’s not just enough to be a class player.
I'm not building my hopes up around this one. If he's available on loan, there will be 20 clubs all across Europe inquiring and some who will either be in the Premier League or playing European football.
See this is my exact thoughts, absolutely no doubt that Fishoaste used to get information last year if incomings but haven’t seen him get much right on his own accord as of recent apart from things clearly fed from agents to push players out doors, I’ve heard he’s quite friendly with a certain Ian Harte…
Agree, the dressing room spirit is vital. I'm pretty sure that under KLD the recruitment team have spent as much time doing personality/lifestyle/character due diligence on potential recruits as they have on their football skills. Think KS has mentioned it several times.
I still remember when we signed Cirkin I posted on here an example of what the deal could look like with a £6m buy back clause. Within a few hours I saw an online article stating the clause at £6m and saying “according to online rumours”. Within more hours other stories were saying £6m buyback. And then eventually it seemed to become “fact”. To the point athletic and sky have even quoted it. now it may have been one hell of a coincidence. But I’m pretty sure I made it up.
Agree entirely, a loan mitigates that to an extent because it’s not a long term arrangement I suppose.
Sank 12 pints at Lords yesterday so sympathy needed for me as I spend today on the sofa watching the cricket and refreshing twitter
