Actually it’s interesting Cannon is going on LOAN to Stoke considering everyone was bidding permanents.

I'm slightly ashamed at the way this lad was handled at Sunderland ...

... he'll become a good player and we'll wonder why?

I wouldn't go that far, I feel like we have a good structure in place for these lads to thrive but it requires two to tango, sometimes failure spurs on success, there are a million stories like that, I just feel maybe we should have persisted a little more.

Is what it is mate

Football has been ****ed for a while now.

This is why I'm no longer desperate for Sunderland to chase 'success' because there won't really be any real consistent success.

Sorry but the best we can hope for is the odd victory at a top four ground, a cup final and a few games in Europe.

I'm more interested in getting down to a scruffy hole, on the south coast, meeting up with the lads and seeing if we can create history by winning the first four games without conceding ...

... if that means I'm accepting mediocrity, and being part of the problem, I really don't give a shiny shyte <laugh>

How come? We've got the likes of Rigg, Ballard, Jobe, Browne, Roberts etc tied down to decent length contracts - I don't see too many in their ranks of a similar calibre or demand.
I’m sure their wage bill was almost double ours when the latest accounts were released

If not, I’m thinking of the year before.
