His other suitors can trot on!!!!

Good news, fingers crossed the first of all of the out of contract players to sign (I know he technically wasn't out of contract with us as such like the others but you get my drift).

Excellent news. <ok>

First tick in the box.

Let's get Ng, Wintle and Bagan all signed up shortly.

Let a few go to clear the decks and build for next season from the start of the window. It is a really positive factor of getting promotion in the normal season rather than delaying through the playoffs.

English translation of Danish explanation of Trott's departure by FC Copenhagen...................

"Nathan Trott has this season been on loan to Cardiff City F.C., and the Welsh club has now chosen to buy the goalkeeper.

This means that Nathan Trott permanently moves to Cardiff, with whom he helped secure promotion to the English Championship.

Technical Director Nils Koppen handled the deal and says about the decision:

"Nathan has delivered a great season in Cardiff, which has meant that they wanted to keep him."

"Since we have assessed that Nathan would not become the first choice at F.C. Copenhagen, and as the deal also falls within the financial framework that we consider acceptable, we have chosen to sell Nathan to Cardiff."

"We wish Nathan good luck in the future and thank him for his time in Copenhagen," says Nils Koppen.

Nathan Trott played 30 matches for F.C. Copenhagen after he was bought from Vejle Boldklub in the summer of 2024. Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen wishes Nathan good luck going forward."

Im not sure what to expect this summer. BBM is an unusual beast with his own way of doing things. Thats not bad, just unusual.

Players that can cover several positions will be key to maintaining BBM's desired small squad. I suppose looking down the leagues has the potential to realise more potential and value.

There are so many moving parts this summer. And unlike previous summers where we are hoping players can be moved on, this summer, in the main, we'll be hoping to hang on to / re-sign players.

BBM out meeting Tan face to face for the first time at the moment. I hope they are aligned in their thinking.

I would hope Tan aligned with BBM and not vice versa!
I think BBM not asking for a load of players will go down well as will the use of the accademy. That should afford him a few 'luxuries' in the transfer market.
Again, BBM talks about developing value. Buying players with potential to grow will sit well with Tan, especially as they wont be on silly wages.
BBM gets fans on board with his 'we must spend the club's money wisely' mantra.
He is very different from those that have gone before. In a good way.

And as well as looking at Ng, Bagan and Wintle, maybe a new contract for BBM, making sure we get a good wedge if anyone wants to pry him away.

As BBM suggests - quality not quantity.

Hmm, still no word on our other out of contract players yet.

Worrying sign or just negotiations taking a little longer but everyone's chilled??

Hopefully things are verbally agreed and they are on the beach, literally. Get things sorted when they are back.
To be honest, a few like Lawlor, Ashford and King were sorted during the season so I dont know why the others werent.
Perhaps they were waiting to see which division we were in.
If Wintle isnt guaranteed a starting spot I could see him leaving. Given King is coming back, Dak could be an option unless he gets another loan, with Turnbull also an option at 6, and it looks like we're in the market for another CM, Im not sure BBM would provide that guarantee. Playing every week seemed to be the point of contention between Wintle and Erol.

Im more concerned about Ng and Bagan as we're light at full back anyway. Bagan wont get more game time up a league than he will with us. Game time is key for him if he has international aspirations.

Ng waxed lyrical about BBM and seems to enjoy being in Cardiff, but you never know.

We seem in a better position to keep and attract players we want than we have for ages.

It'll be fine. :emoticon-0107-sweat
