I reckon we could get Lionel Messi as back up aswell
 
We are linked with 21yo fullback James Justin from Luton again.

We are also being linked with Micheal Keane again if Maguire leaves.
 
We have now been linked with Harry Wilson. Brendan managed him when he was at Liverpool but Wilson was just an academy player then
 
Arjen Robben has been linked we are 2-1 fav to sign him. OMG NO no NO no You have to be joking he is 35 years old and on mega bucks!
Not IMO what we should be looking at this club.
 
If it was to happen (and i don't for one second think it will) it could work on the following points,
  • He'd still be better at 35 than our current wingers.
  • Im guessing he'd be a Kevin Phillips / Cambiasso type influence on some of the younger players. Barnes and Gray especially.
  • It shows a message of intent to players and may get the likes of Tielemans on board.
  • It would show faith between manager and board if this was a player BR or his team wanted us to get in.

Article suggets hes on about £140k a week at Bayern, if he was to come here for roughly the same wage and zero transfer fee, i hardly see how its going to rock the boat.

He could probably goto China and earn double/triple that, but if he wants to be try and stay at a top level and challenge himself, then i'd haveto applaud him.

We have been tracking him for a while - I remember posting a rumour when he got his first Wales cap aged 16 in 2013 and pretty much every transfer window since.

Apparently Liverpool are going to offer him as part of a deal for Ryan Fraser as they are getting rid of Shaqiri - we were linked with him last season and personally would welcome him here.
 
We are linked with Patrick Roberts again - he played under Rodgers at Celtic and is apparently available for around £4m as he is in the last year of his contract.

Nowadays thats nothing for someone who could provide competition for our weakest position.

Also David Silva is reportedly leaving Man City to sign for someone in Qatar and the rumour is they want Youri Tielemans to replace him
 
Talk is Matthjis De Ligt was on the verge of signing for Barcelona but Man U have made a last min offer to him of £350K a week which he is going to accept

This would probably make Man City favourites for Harry Maguire if he leaves. According to Rob Tanner we dont want to sell and wont put a price on his head but if he wants to go then its all about someone paying over the odds for him

So far that makes Spurs, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Athletico Madrid linked with Tielemans - we have a fight on our hands to land the kid.

We could always do with a target man if only as a plan B as we send a stupid number of crosses in the air over Vardy's head in every game - one who can play as a #10 and has ability with the ball at his feat like Llorente would do nicely imo.

We are linked with 25yo Ivory Coast CB Wilfried Kanon from ADO Den Haag - apparently his strengths are passing and build up play.

I just can’t see Tielemans staying and can’t blame him.

Only thing on our side is that he is a young player who obviously went through a bad time after a big move - he now has to choose between being happy at our level without all the scrutiny or going to somewhere like Man Utd where all the scrutiny comes each week and not really guaranteed a game
 
Man City will sign Maguire, we will sign Dunk from Brighton, and Brighton will sign Clarke from Portsmouth - is from The Portsmouth News so must be true.

In all seriousness, Dunk would be a good replacement...
