Chris Smalling rumour back on. Would be great, really hope we could push that through. Get that done, keep Vardy and Mahrez and if Drinky goes get one of the Sporting lads would be ideal
If West Ham are linked with Carvalho I can't see why we aren't - looked class whenever I've seen him and likes to play deep like our midfield does
Never seen him play tbh. Oh unless for Portugal last summer maybe. What are his attributes? I feel we need someone capable of unlocking defences as we have plenty of defensive minded midfielders, someone who can pick a pass.

How would it be suicidal - can easily afford it. That he would be an upgrade on what we currently have is a statement on how poor we are more then him.
The only two big bids that I know of were for Sigurddson and Deeney - neither of who wanted to come here which is why we didn't follow up. Really annoyingly it seems that we have no other alternatives either.

Not financial suicide in terms of us being able to afford it but the ambition or lack of it spending it on a player like that who's hardly been inspiring
Seems we've bid £23m for Jonny Evans. He'd be a good signing, but I reckon West Brom will hold out for near on £30m with Man City also keen. Huth and Morgan will be out in the cold if he came, ruthless but necessary.
If we are willing to bid that much, should go after the likes of Ben Gibson.

He is quality and a definite upgrade. PSG got him last season for 30m
Only thing is he is more defensive than DD.

Apparently is like Matic - his main role is a screening DM but when he is allowed to go forward, he has something. Also is adept as a CB - solves two problems at once.
Would still prefer another proper attacking player and a proper RB.
