There’s no way we’d lose either of those targets if we were genuinely interested. We have beaten both teams to joint targets already. Yes Spurs can attract players but that lad from Nice would be a Puel signing so would very likely give us the advantage over Spurs if we were bothered
 
Simranjit Thandi has left us to join Stoke - pity as he was a good prospect but he has too many players in front of him here.
 
Roma are set to lose Alisson for a world record fee and they are rumoured to want to spend a bulk of it getting Kasper as replacement.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested.

Roma want to go through the whole Mahrez type saga again with us? They just need to admit they can't afford top players.

Alisson is set to go for £60M+ so they will have a couple of quid.
 
We are close to signing Patrick Roberts for £10m - looks like it will be a separate deal to the Mahrez one.

It also looks like we are close to signing Jordan Lukaku.
 
Maguire linked in shock move to Man Utd! Only surprise about that is they didn’t start the rumour the morning after the Sweden match when he scored. Hopefully he read Mourniho’s comments about him diving against Colombia. Can’t see the owners letting him go and not for £50mill (VVD has set a precident). Get him on a new contract ASAP

Edit - given we also play Man U first game and that’s when the window closes I’d be surprised if Mourinho didn’t start playing games

I’d take Smalling as an addition (apparently he was available for 15mill before which is good for a player of his proven level) but not instead of Maguire. I think we should be more concerned with an attacking midfielder to replace Mahrez. Only deadwood should be allowed to leave now

We have Maddison and might be keeping Musa.

He was the top scorer in the dutch league last season

Fee talked about is €22M

I'm seeing £19M which is the same - was alright in the world cup for Iran but didn't set the world alight.
 
All we need now a decent back up keeper. One who can actually push Kasper

Another centre half allowing us to play 3 at the back we only have 3 centre halfs and 4 if you count Benalouane who needs getting rid of

Replace Mahrez

And if we sell Musa, Slimani and Ulloa then another striker

The advantage we have this season is we have 2 proper holding midfielders in Ndidi and Mendy. Silva has never looked comfortable doing it and Iborra did ok without setting the world alight

I think we still need to get rid of Benalouane, James, Musa, Ulloa and Slimani

Give Kapustka a chance or loan him to a championship club so he can actually learn the English game. Loan Barnes to a championship club as he looked really good for Barnsley but looked too raw when he played for us and same with Choudhury. Get him playing every week in the championship and next summer Barnes and Choudhury could be good players for us
