He wanted to have one last shot at the Premier League, he has the sense to realize that he will not be able to play every game and has so far made two appearances off the bench. He also knows that football has a habit of changing very quickly which may present him with a run of games and if he were to score a few goals then, it might make it hard for him to be dropped. He would free up a fair amount in wages if he were to leave, but would not generate too much now in a transfer fee.
Maybe Danny Rose has put in a word. Cannot imagine he will be cheap wages wise. Big and physical with an eye for goal on his day.
Also linked with another ex Premier league midfielder. https://mobile.twitter.com/aktransfernews/status/1430963158408175619 Was very good at Blackburn and Stoke I remember . Probably not the youngest
Same age as Sissoko - and Cleverley. Had a very nice wife too if my memory serves me well - divorced after he beat her I think.
So Hughes off, sad but was going to happen. Great to get Success off the books. Apparently the transfer window shuts at the end of August, is that true for all transfers?
Not everywhere - some windows close earlier and others much later. The latter would only apply to transfers out from here though.
I suspect that this will have put paid to the Nzonzi rumour - he wants £101K per week... https://www.teamtalk.com/news/jose-mourinho-open-departure-watford-eye-roma-midfielder-steven-nzonzi
It’s official with help from Danny Rose: https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1431292925548187662
Well it was just a rumour and probably won’t happen given we have signed Sissoko. Plus we have had our fair share of shady characters before in trouble with the law . A certain current captain springs to mind ! Anyway seems he was cleared of such allegations. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/ex-stoke-star-steven-nzonzi-7060685.amp
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58362850 I whisper it, but maybe these oldies will be good for a season or two and keep us up. I fear for Chabs though, something must be very serious with him I fear. Hope I am wrong.
Keep our fingers crossed for him Re the new signings we need some older heads to organise and the youngsters to run all day If we get the mix right we could have a good season
