According to SSN there are still three deals in the pipeline - Championship players to EPL clubs. <yikes>
They have until 7:00pm to be finalised and announced...

Given that we never managed to sign a left back, I wonder if we'll turn to the out-of-contract list?

Kwadwo Asamoah is a free agent after leaving Inter Milan. Or am I aiming a bit high?

It seems that we put a bid in for Rose again last Friday - too low according to Spurs, and Rose wasn't keen anyway.

Could we really afford him given we are trying to save money ?

I don't really know - but we have saved at least £90k a week just by offloading RP and GD. I'm not sure what that means in the greater scheme of things though.

I am sure we are subsidising GD's wages seeing as he is at Udinese, would also be suprised if RP is getting the same money he was on with us, so hopefully we are not subsidising him until the end of his contract.

I doubt we would be - his move was a permanent transfer rather than a loan as far as I remember.

As its Udinese we are speaking about, I would not be too certain if I was you. His contract was not up this summer with us I believe, otherwise he could have signed a pre-contract agreement with someone else and he did not. So with the TV money allocation, as it is in Italy, I can not see Udinese paying the same as us, so why would he at his age take a drop in money? Yes I know he wanted a move and we wanted to reduce our wage bill, but.....

Well the club seem to think so - "permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee". Surely it would be a first if we carried on paying part of a player's salary after the player had permanently moved elsewhere?

So did we pay Udineses to take him then? no wonder it was an "undisclosed fee"" the two clubs have many entwined connections Bolton as you very well know. How the money actually passes between the two for various players, would I guess be very enlightening.

Or the took him at a very reduced price to support his wages and get him off Watford's books.

Maybe, who knows, it is as murky as it gets really and not just with RPs transfer.

I really have no idea how it's possible to arrive at that conclusion.

Yes there are 'entwined connections', but there are still legalities to consider. RP was a reasonably expensive asset - I'd imagine that the tax man for one would be interested in knowing why such an asset was written off by being given away, with the recipients also being paid to take him away. The Pozzo family have had a whiff of suspicion following their business dealings for a number of years so have to be honest and 'by the book' - that's my take on them at least.

I am not making any allegations as I have no knowledge of the internal dealings of the club.

You ask how that conclusion could be reached. Well, hypothetically, we sign player A from the said club for a fee. That fee in the realms of possibility could be inflated to allow for the sale of the player B to the other club for a lower fee. Both fees were not disclosed. Or we loan a player to that club and do not ask for an appropriate loan fee for him ( for a reason ie fitness) to again subsidise the wages of player B.

As I have said I do not make allegations that this has happened, but it would negate things would it not and accountants can deal with any tax issues that may arise. If RP had gone to a different club, I would not have an opportunity to speculate over the close and I am sure innocent relationship of the two clubs.

I thought he had a contract till 2022 but might be wrong ?

Don’t think Troy will be going anywhere tbh.

He probably knows a PL club won’t come in for him.

Any journalist who thinks Troy is behind Murray in the pecking order doesn't know what he's talking about in my opinion. Come January - if not before - I think they'll find the rumours that Murray's loan spell will be cut short will have come to fruition.

Does the club have an extra year to add if they want to?
Personally don't think they will offer another contract unless he does brilliant things in next few months. Deeney was asking for a new contract before Wolves semi and very publicly asked the club to offer him a new contract and they haven't so don't expect them to change their minds now.
