I have written that Suarez was keen to sign for Granada because his wife comes from that city. Heraldo (a Spanish publication) has recently confirmed this story and that Suarez will be signed for €15 million in staggered payments (which is a record transfer fee for Granada). This amount is confirmed by other Spanish newspapers such as El Mundo. The report states that his preference is to play in the Spanish top division rather than the Championship.
Apparently, Crotone only want Pussetto on a 'dry loan' - they don't want to pay anything for him. Bunch of cheapskates... http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-mission-secure-watford-players-services-agreement-dry-loan-not-far/
Seems Suarez has left and been seen at Granada but nothing from the club. Probably forgotten he existed! Or as usual communication is very slow.
Suarez was seen in Malmo tonight but was not part of the matchday squad. Grenada won so are through to the group stages and Foulquier was a used sub.
I see various news sites are now saying that ManUre only want to sign Sarr on loan. If true, I really hope that Gino tells them to foxtrot oscar. On reflection, I hope he tells them that even if it's not true.
It's been reported on sky's nightly transfer show all week that Watford has stated they are only interested in a permanent sale at a fee of 50 million.
I did read a comment earlier from Roy Moore that Etienne Capoue had decided to stay and fight for a place in the team. I can only assume that the offers did not come flooding in.
I hope if he does stay and selected Capoue is motivated to play. Linked to Newcastle wide man Christian Atsu.
I would really like that to happen, but I feel, he is one of our players, that would also attract interest from some Premiership lesser teams. He can still offer a lot. On a different note, we seem to be linked with a lot of players into their thirties.
Barry Douglas played well for Wolves when they won the Championship, but he missed a lot of games for Leeds - during the past two seasons - due to injury. He should make a good addition to Watford's medical treatment room. Christian Atsu (if he joins Watford on loan) could be a useful addition to the squad, but I hope that he is not intended as a replacement for Sarr. I would be seriously underwhelmed if that turned out to be the case. The club's senior management underestimated the Premier League when they failed to strengthen the defence. Adam Leventhal reported that they thought that they had enough to get by last season when they were not able to sign the first choice defenders whom they wanted and subsequent events demonstrated that they were wrong. I hope that they do not similarly underestimate the quality of the Championship.
I think we need to Send Foster off on a two week cycling holiday and hide his phone. There are one or two Premiership teams in need of his quality at the moment, one of which already has two of our former players.
Ivic has been reported as saying that one area he is looking to strengthen in is at left-back, to provide cover for Ken Sema - so if BD does sign, he may have plenty of opportunity to spend time in the treatment room.
