Just had a look for that tweet - it's an old one. They have since tweeted another source claiming the same - a Nigerian site that is quoting another old source.... All clickbait I suspect.
Must get a hold of that Nigerian who emailed me about a banking error in my favour and send them my details.
I had an E-Mail from two Nigerian Princesses who needed my help to recover their stolen inheritance I was introduced to their lawyer and bank manager and all was looking good It all went boobs up when I requested some money to fly out and meet them Not heard anything since
Seems to be official that Capoue and Pereyra want out: Least we kind of know why they aren't involved although not much interest for them so far it seems.
Valencia rumour re Capoue has risen from the ashes apparently - they may have found some money from somewhere as £5-7million fee is being quoted. Hopefully Troy and Sarr are both fit for Saturday.
Confirmation that they want out... https://www.hertfordshiremercury.co...s/watford-midfield-pair-hand-transfer-4542403
Shame about Étienne Capoue, it really is. Crying shame he couldn't be convinced for one season more (not sure about his contract length mind) Roberto Pereyra can do one though, never really gave it his all I feel despite some classy moments. I don't want any more passanger performances from him in a Watford shirt.
I dont think Capue has the mental or physical strength to compete for a season in the Championship, neither does he so he wants out Roberto WHO????????? had none of that as a passenger in the Prem Deeney and Gray are ideal for the Championship and Sarr has the opportunity to achieve semi legend status Welbeck is too fragile for the Championship, he and Watford probably know that Would Delafoure survive the kicking he would receive in the Championship, possibly not and he might retaliate, we need a good fee for him
I imagine the club have told Welbeck's people to find him a club. That said, I imagine they are having trouble doing so.
Yes - his injury record isn't great ! And clubs probably aren't prepared to take a risk with the money he wants.
not necessarily a rumour, but thought that i would share an email I got back from Dave Messenger following an email where I spoke about some supporters thinking the club were failing to update them and suggesting a way of addressing that discontent. It does give some insight into the considerations which the club needs to bear in mind....thought that it would be good to share the response which i was really happy to receive Many thanks for your email and feedback. I can assure you that we do not make a deliberate point of keeping supporters in the dark. We do understand that, in this era of instant information on social media, everyone wants to hear news as soon as they possibly can. That's especially relevant during the current situation, both on the pitch and in relation to our planning for the return of supporters to the stadium which has just had to be postponed, season ticket polices and the new Hive Live streaming service, all of which have been the subject of email communications directly to supporters and social media posts in recent weeks. Communication is not always straightforward and in many cases it's simply not possible to share as much information as we and our supporters might like, as you rightly allude to. That said, both the team news post from earlier this week and the comments from our Chairman following the sale of Pervis Estupiñán and the fact that we disclosed the fee, not common in transfer deals these days, reflect our intention to provide further clarity where it’s possible. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/injury-update-deeney-sarr-nearing-return https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-estupinan-joins-villarreal I'll use the example of departing players to make a couple of further points for your consideration. To publicly announce a departure or otherwise, we must ensure that all contractual matters between player & club and/or transfer details between clubs are fully resolved. Then there is the question of whether players/clubs want us to announce or comment on what are often personal decisions for the players, especially when they move between countries. Finally, our own timing and planning also come into play when considering how and when to make announcements. Those running other social media accounts would not have to consider these type of concerns and as such, if they have been given information from other sources, they can release news which can then be taken as fact by supporters whether it's correct or not, leading to a clamour for us to confirm which is, in turn, construed as ‘lack of communication’ when we don’t respond or confirm right away. Again, these are general comments and not necessarily relevant to any particular players or situations, but I hope I've been able to give a little more background into our thoughts. Please do feel free to share any further thoughts or comments you might have with me, either now or in the future. Finally, your suggestion of a fans forum being held on Zoom is a good one and I will certainly discuss the possibility of doing something along these lines with my senior colleagues in the coming weeks.
Goodness know how people coped in the days before instant social media etc! Trouble is rumours come out every day and people believe them. By now Sarr and Suarez have been sold about 10 times this summer. Capoue has been to Valencia and back. Deeney has gone to Spurs/West Brom. And we'd have about 5 new players.
With great difficulty. For example, after emigrating to Australia I remember it took me four months to find out that a 1-4 home defeat at the hands of Notts County had knocked us out of the cup. Three or four years after that, I discovered that The Watford Observer took overseas subscriptions, so kept in touch that way - a little expensive and not exactly instant - it took around a fortnight for each copy to arrive. Prior to that, even a regular weekend results service was very hit & miss.
