We're rumoured to be 'battling' Villa for this guy's signature - a 6'6" Venezualan central defender currently playing in Serie B with Brescia. He'd probably block Foster's view... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jhon_Chancellor
A 'key' transfer update. More to come and more to go... I'm not a fan of transfer windows at the best of times, but this one is ridiculous - by the time all our dealings are finished, we'll already have played five League and one Cup matches. That seems such a stupid way to run a competition to me. https://www.hertfordshiremercury.co...atford-chairman-provides-key-transfer-4500749
Pervis on his way back to Spain for 15 million.. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-villarreal-close-agreement-pervis-estupinan/
If he had signed a new contract he would be staying but as he has a little over a year to go they must sell with the right offer unfortunately.
And he is going to a club in Europe playing in a top league. Plus someone wants him unlike all the others that have been linked with moves away.
Disappointing news about Estupiñán. There was a report in the local newspaper at Osasuna that he had signed with Watford until 2024, but it is understandable that the club have accepted the offer if that report was incorrect and he had a little over a year left. What I do not understand is why he was so prominent in the club's preseason social media if that is the case and he was likely to go. Ivic also said that Estupiñán had missed the Middlesbrough game due a slight knock and that it was Ivic's decision that he should not play. Perhaps Ivic did not want to use a player who might not be not fully committed if he is leaving, but then Ivic said that Estupiñán should be available soon.
Our media do like to hype players up a lot then we never see them! Pedro was the same - talked up but then never played till now.
Another strange thing (assuming that Adam Leventhal's tweet about selling Estupiñán is true) is that the club are left without any recognised left wing-back or left back. Holebas has gone to Greece and Massina will be out for several months because of his injury. Wing-backs are a key component of the system which Ivic likes to play so I hope that the club has a decent replacement lined up.
I think Pervis had agreed to extend his contract but never signed, then we were relegated, or there was a clause about relegation. I'm just guessing, nobody knows. If he is under contract till 2024 then I can't understand why we would sell him.
Tbh he would add a lot of Championship experience and ability. Also actually want to stay if given the chance. That is why people like him are important really in a squad. Surely we could got players in with the same potential quality as this Pervis and Suarez without having to send them out on loan x times ?
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are working on tabling a bid for Watford star Ismaila Sarr in the January transfer window. Football Insider claim that the Reds may lodge a ‘concerted bid’ for the 22-year-old at the mid-season point, with the Reds currently unwilling to meet the ace’s £40m price tag. It’s added that Jurgen Klopp’s side have identified Sarr as someone that can act as an alternative option to the likes of superstars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. The report claims that Liverpool see the Senegalese starlet as a ‘medium-term’ target, with the Premier League champions already having held talks with the Hornets regarding a move. It’s no surprise that Watford are sticking firm to their £40m demands, they made the ace their club-record signing in a £30m move last summer, as per the Guardian.
Am filing this one in the 'odd rumours' drawer - a rumour to the effect that we're not signing someone and there are no talks happening... https://insidefutbol.com/2020/09/14...n-olsen-at-present-no-talks-happening/472122/
