They were quite keen on him on their fans forum! Deneey will probably leave because of the abuse he seems to get from our some of fans on social media and other forums. Sure he hasn't had a great season - not helped by injury but you can bet he has the club at heart. How many other players do?
No doubt the fans who will be nowhere to be seen when crowds are permitted at matches again. My worry now is that a complete clear-out of our better players will happen and we'll be left with the inexperienced & not-so-good. It now seems that Welbeck is a target for Besiktas and Foster is interesting Leeds. Mind you, I think Sema is due back from Udinese soon - could be good in the Championship. Maybe history will repeat itself and he'll come back with twelve loanees and Zola?
Well that is the trouble - we have some good players who just underperformed in the eyes of many outsiders. And likes of Welbeck and Foster will be seen as solid Premier league type players throughout their career. We need to sell fairly quickly as we don't want to get caught out right at the end of the transfer window and not able to get replacements in. Of course we also have to get a manager but then again doesn't seem to matter who is in the hot seat and they don't make the signings.
The bookies are linking us with some usual suspects - but also a couple of interesting ones. Jokanovic and Danny Cowley. Although he has a resonable Championship record, it might be a case of once bitten, twice shy for the former - and at least the latter managed to fend off relegation...
Valencia want to sign Kiko Femenía and Gerard Deulofeu. Watford are willing to sell but Valencia are currently interested in a loan deal. Both players would be delighted to return to La Liga and work with Javi Gracia again.
I think we paid more than that for him.. So certainly won't be enough. Doucoure linked with a move away unsurprisingly.
To be honest I am surprised that anyone is bidding for a player who is just coming back from an injury that could be the end of his career.
We're rumoured to be signing central defender Chey Dunkley - a free agent who has just left Wigan. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chey-dunkley/profil/spieler/217094
That's what I thought - a pretty solid lower league history. Still, there'll be no transfer fee - and he was one of Wigan's standout players during the season. And we do need the centre of defence to be shored up - if not replaced.
Luis Suarez being told he cannot play in the play-offs for his loan club in Spain as we need him back for Pre-season. A sing we might keep him or just looking to sell?
I find this all so sad. It feels like the dismantling of a whole era, including getting rid of a spine of a team that should be (and indeed has been) mid-table in the premier league. It still feels to me like a team that went down because so many didn't play to their potential, rather than a team lacking quality. I just hope we get the typical Pozzo thing of signing some players we've never heard of that become absolute gems in the mould of Vydra or Doucs.
Sadly money talks...and agents. We need the money probably and players want to still play at the top level even if they didn't perform for us.
And aren't Real Zaragosa spitting chips over it - “This is an attack on the integrity of the competition."
