I think it’s more about quality in key areas than a massive overhaul. For example 3 signings, Dragovic in for Morgan, that Periera from Porto for Simpson and T Hazard in the number 10 role would make a huge difference. Then it’s a case of who leaves such as Mahrez. I’d expect the likes of Silva and Iheanacho to come into their own more, I’d also persevere with Chilwell. More than anything, we need the manager to have the right attitude towards games which he isn’t showing right now
Would a like a new #10 to replace Okazaki. We also have Nampalys Mendy to come back - he played under Puel at Nice so might have a future here.
But an actual attacking midfield type not a striker playing out of position. As I said above, Hazard could be a good option To add to that actually, look at other players that Chelsea let go to Germany and Italy. On that basis Hazard would be a fantastic signing!
Would still like Ben Arfa if interest is still there, we could use an experienced playmaker like him, i guess it depends on his wage demands.
Whats really depressing is Mo Salah only cost £5M more the Islam Slimani Just shows how piss poor our signings was last season. Champions of England signed aload of chumps
It's probably a bit harsh to describe some of the players we have signed as 'chumps'. I think we have bought players that haven't been a good fit for our style of play, and that has been especially true of the imports from the Spanish league. They would almost certainly have found it easier to integrate into, and might not have looked out of place in, a team like the current Manchester City side who have a way of playing that is more akin to what they are used to and where they would be in the company of players who are confident in possession and better technically. Unfortunately they look like fish out of water as soon as they pull on a Leicester shirt. The end of year report for whoever is in charge of recruitment is definitely 'must do better or **** off!'
If hes only £3m, he'll go sit on Man Citys bench for a bonkers salary. If he wants to play, surely we're a decent enough option for him, but at his age, i wouldn't blame him for taking the money.
West Ham want Slimani and are willing to offer Andy Carroll who has fallen out with Moyes as part of the deal. We are interested in Andriy Lunin - a highly rated 19 year old Ukrainian keeper.
Sky reporting Mahrez has withdrawn his transfer request but doesn't know if he'll still be here next season. On recent performances no-one is going to offer anything like we're going to be looking for.
Although i feel Slimanis not been given a fair crack of the whip, Carrolls a fairly proven striker like Crouch in ths league, even if it is in more "limited spells" Think we'd probably take the £60m Man City offered at this point.
Van Dijk was hardly pulling up trees just before he signed fo Liverpool ... Mahrez value will not have altered ... if last few performances was really relevant, we would be able to give Kaspar away for nowt right now
Without talking on fitness, ability wise I think Carroll is the best target man in world football. I’m sure some people which now shoot me down
Would say that Carroll is better as a target man then Lewandowski, Cavani and Higuain - if only because he is bigger and better in the air. Dezko and Mandzukic - fair enough.
