... which was our toughest opponent... the Dragon slayer. My point being that I think Slim can be a real threat if the team is set up to provide the service to him ...
Some differing views on the signings I reckon Musa was a complete waste of space but Slimani didn’t do as well as we expected due to us not playing the right way for him and him being a number 9, would play in vardys position but they never linked well together. If he can keep fit and gets the service he’s a good player. Silva I think is a class player who lost half a season in the wilderness and hasn’t really been given a run yet. That ball to Mahrez wat sublime. Iheanacho again, give him a chance he’ll score. He would play as main striker which is Vardy right now. Too quick to write him off and I hope we keep him
Which is not how we play. And not how we will play under Puel. Last time we played a systerm Slimani would thrive under was in League 1 with Howard and Fryatt He has been a failure for us and we are desperate to get rid. Hence why he is at Newcastle
I’ll tell you what, if that’s genuine I’d really consider going back in for him. £20 - £25m would be the maximum though
I wouldn’t want Drinkwater back under any circumstances or prices. Nothing personal to him but we need to move on from that era (as fantastic as it was). I really think we should be looking to move on some of the old guard not bring ones back that have gone. I may make an exception for Kante as he was only part of the one season and not the poor season after or the group that were around for a few years before that seem to dictate a lot around the club
Getting Drinkwater back while highly unlikely would be brilliant. I like Iborra but only as long as we have Ndidi alongside to do the dirty work. DD and Ndidi would be magic. we are linked to a Portuguese right full back and while Simpson has been great surely close to the end now. Biggest concern is replacing Morgan (who seems to be getting a contract extension) and Vardy. No idea where the goals are coming from without him and probably Mahrez.
Agree re Morgan and Simpson. Both need replacing if Puel is to be a success to fit his methods. An attacking right back and another centre back comfortable on the ball arena must. Vardy still has so much to offer and must have the best conversation rate in the league given he’s 4th highest scorer with the limited chances he actually gets. We haven’t found the right guy since Okazaki to play alongside or just behind him. That would also be important, an actually attacking midfielder number 10 not another striker as such
Well yes! But I’ve just found this linked from the Premier league https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/ontarget_scoring_att Kane 68 chances / 25 goals = 2.72 per goal Vardy 26 / 16 = 1.6 Salah 60 / 29 = 2.06 Aguero 42 / 21 = 2 Shows what a better conversion rate he has compared to those 3 so we are so lucky to have him right now
Wouldn't have Drinkwater back. He knew when he went there he was going to sit on the bench for more money and thought he was going to swan into the England team, but well done Southgate for actually being the first England manager in a while to care about recent performances over what club they play/benchwarm for. I know its been said alot, but he made his own bed and now hes got to lie in it. We need to move away from loyalty to players that have shown us none, or loyalty to players that won't improve our team like King. We need to improve the team with quality players that push the starting 11 to be better and actually want to be here.
I genuinely thought he would play next to Kante. Bakayoko is abysmal and Fabregas declining. Wasn’t to be though
Not even in the squad today for chelsea again. Not sure if he’s injured or just that far down the order
One player who has always impressed me but lacked the end product is Adama Traore from Middlesbrough He has really impressed this season and I think he is a real rough gem. If they dont go up I would go after him
