Ok who told you he has done no professional football training because I would bet he has somewhere out of the way.
well **** his bans going to be extended then if he's been doing professional football training while banned 2027 maybe?
He’s not allowed to, for a start. Brady’s sort of got a point. I’d expect him to be keeping fit in the gym, doing cardio and weight training (he looks to have bulked up a bit). However, he’s not kicked a ball with other pros and won’t be able to until November. That is an issue. His reactions and intuition might be a bit off at first having not trained or played with other professionals for a year.
and the ligaments and joints take an absolute battering in pro football, he will need conditioning, you can only do so much solo with a trainer id be shocked if he started a game before 2026
Also, the intensity and pace of playing a game of 11v11 competitive football just can’t be replicated with cardio on your own. It’s constant movement at different angles, often under pressure, with sprints thrown in. Just not comparable with running on a treadmill or burpees.
and top of that, every city player and opponents will be 3-4 months into the season, its a very very difficult time to come in from 12 months out it shouldnt effect whether we sign him or not if he's ready in december or january, i think matters little pro football doesnt look it, but its one of the most brutal sports on the body constantly turning and sprinting very short distances jumps it absolutely destroys the lower body and constant kicking motions, its a far far more brutal sport than rugby
Tonali done pretty well since returning for Newcastle. He's a young lad, he'll shake of the rust quick enough.
Yeh. Even still, It'll be fine. Thats if we sign him, I've got a feeling Selles won't want to mess around.
thats my whole argument though to be fair is spending most of our budget on a guy who wont be ready till dec/january a good decision?
If he's as good as hoped then yeh. We buy a midfielder in most windows so I guess just think of it as an early January signing. Hopefully we will of moved along a bunch of players not needed too. As for the budget, I'm well and truly lost with it. I thought Puerta would be a struggle but theres also talk of buying Gelhardt, so who knows.
Where has it actually been said that Zambrano can't train, or that he won't be available until months after his ban ends? I know that there are precedents of players being unable to train, but unless I've missed some reporting, I don't know why we'd be confident of the specifics of this ban, and it would seem logical to me that he'd be allowed to do some sort of staged return to training in advance of his ban ending so that he is realistically able to play once it ends. Toney did something like that, though obviously with a different authority and a different offence.
He wont he be available for a few months is speculation on the fact he's played no professional football in 12 months Realistic really And he cant train with a professional football team Its a total ban Toney was completely different governing body ban and offence as you said
But what makes you (or anyone) so sure that he will be totally banned from training until the very end of the ban in this specific case? I haven't seen any reporting saying so and I'm not aware of any specifically applicable precedent.
If Zambrano is doing gym work & training by himself, he’ll be further along than any player who is injured & due back at that time.
Yea youre right, he may be able to train earlier on Not sure on his specific clauses, could be part of the successful appeal
