During the summer, I was told that the club wouldn’t even fund petrol for the ground staff to cut the grass. That’s how bad it was. Stupidly, some of the staff paid for petrol out of their own money so they could crack on. How true that is, I don’t know. But I’ve no reason to doubt the person who told me.
Serious question. Is that it? One business (or later you post. maybe 'a couple'). Maybe there are other reasons it's not been cleared? If it's that bad then businesses (like Cranswick as it was mentioned) and many, many more would not keep coming back?
People were suggesting the other day that things haven't deteriorated on this board. That feels like a good example of how it has.
So you are claiming because we owe a few hundred quid to a tiny business (allegedly) the club is critically short of money? Staff are quitting is a new claim too. On the other hand the club has actually spent money on re laying the pitch, installing safe standing, free travel to Portsmouth, among other things. All things they didn't have to spend money on if we are really short of it. Under the control and scrutiny of the EFL we have brought in a load of players, those players don't seem to have any concerns about not getting paid.
I’ve heard things are really bad. If we don’t get promoted in 2 seasons Acun Medya and the club are in massive trouble.
There are lots of businesses owed money, I made reference to one which actually made me gobsmacked because it is such a small amount and so old. If the people running the club can't pay those then it's dire. And orange has mentioned why Cranswick only signed again last week. LinkedIn confirms that.
Have a look on LinkedIn. Staff quitting is very much happening. As I posted earlier he is desperately trying to pretend all is well by spending what he can on the show pony stuff. Other than a small percentage of the fan base it seems he has been found out now. If you don't want to believe that it's your call. No issue from me.
Of course I want the club to succeed and do well and it's a concern if that's in doubt but I certainly aren't going to worry and get wound up if allegations are being made suggesting that's the case. As Filey would say, everyday is a good day.
You've been told by a number of people with info from within the club, you're just choosing not to believe it. And time will eventually tell, though your little attempt at a straw man argument - 'if we haven't gone bust by next week then it's all bollocks' is you desperately grasping at straws and you know it.
As I have said, and others for many weeks to be fair, he needs to walk away with something otherwise his empire collapses. Promotion gets him some cash back. As Kalman has said he is a gambler who can't stop rolling the dice but he is funding it with credit. I take no joy in this, I defended the guy for the last year.
So guys this is the last throw of the dice for him , it’s a good squad and could be v successful once gelled - I hope this manager can do it - otherwise we may be shafted- again !
The January 2024 splurge and subsequent Rosenior sacking after finishing 7th was pivotal to this. The disagreements over style of play was just a smokescreen that Acun probably gleaned from social media as a justification for sacking him. The actual reason Rosenior was sacked was because we didn’t finish in the play-offs and Acun was livid.
Its a small number of you and you haven't told anything in any detail or with any real substance beyond "I've heard it's bad", "someone hasn't been paid", "some ees are looking for new jobs" sort of stuff. As others have posted, the facts and evidence continue to tell a very different story to this hearsay. This hearsay just doesn't seem to stack up with what wev see happening. Sorry but I need facts not hearsay before I slate the owner and club. My DM is still waiting
I think the real turning point when he looks back would be sacking Selles. It was an atrocious decision that there’s not really any coming back from.
He's previously tried to buy his way out of this League, cost him a lot of money and so will any further failed attempts.(It's no easy task getting out of this level,we all know that). I'm not sure we've got the required depth, skill or goals in our squad to gain promotion this year,if we somehow manage it,he'll sell up,get his money back, mop his brow and thank his lucky stars. A few of us have said we see this season as the last throw of the dice,I'll certainly stand by that.
