I don't like the way Coyle is talked about at all. It's been the same for a long time. There's always a clamour to replace him, and a reluctance to acknowledge the good he does. Decent full backs come and go and he always keeps his place. Managers rave about his leadership but people who watch from the stands say he's a crap leader because he doesn't visibly go mental waving his arms about on the pitch. No one seems to acknowledge that maybe being level-headed and in control is part of what makes him a good leader. Ian Ashbee emphatically backed his leadership at a fan event when someone asked a question about it, if you need another testimony. He gets such a constant stream of criticism that it's very easy to imagine how it could kick off in town on the night when he'll have gone out and let his hair down after finally completing the job he and his team mates have been fighting for for months. Wherever he goes in Hull he's likely to encounter someone with something negative to say to him. He and a few other players who've been central to our successes in recent years and helped us fight through the bad seasons deserve a bit more respect.
Bare in mind the statement says they are aware of the video and are looking into it, nothing more than that.
You really are a ****. It’s still not been confirmed that it is him. It may well be. I said wider not longer btw.
i remember a video of when jordan pickford went for a nightout in his home town and the abuse he was getting from a few lads was insane proper insulting his wife etc, goading him, thinking they wont get a reaction due to him being in the limelight
Can someone post a photo as opposed to a link. I’m not on Twitter and can’t access the video. Cheers.
I feel for him a bit. I thought he was player of the season before Xmas under Walter. He was putting some serious distances in and what he was been asked to do was crazy. His natural instinct is obviously too fight, however we don’t know the circumstances. We don’t want to lose him or his brother either who looks a decent player. It would have been logical he stayed away from Town had a holiday away with his family and let some steam off, now he’s nearly made captaincy untenable. Some of the abuse he gets it’s totally out of order. He’s been no worse than the rest of our team, and we only conceded a goal a game, which in a relegation side threatened side is excellent.
It really depends on what actually happened. He either a) reacted to general abuse b) reacted to a comment about his dad or c) he was coked up and had an aggressive episode which happens on that stuff. He was witnessed to be on it, that's unacceptable. It does back up the treehouse stuff though.
Can’t remember if it was on here or x that allegedly some of the players are on the bag and drink regular. Could these be the ones that have been told to find new clubs?
seen no one (including me tbf) mention him busting a gut pressing at the end of the pompey game to keep the pressure on. Or about how his shot lead to the corner we scored from. He's the usual one in every team that gets singled out for some reason. There are far, far, worse people in the squad that don't get half the grief. Odd really.
It is utterly bizarre, even more so when he's from here, and his family do such great things for the City. Tbh, some people sicken me at times. WTF is wrong with some people these days.
Thus is spot on from PLT Plenty of good captains don't shout and go crazy on be pitch. I'm not even sure id look for a right-back in summer. I think Coyle did OK and try and get his form back to what it was and Drameh is an OK back up
Good question and I'm not saying it to be fact but there has been numerous reports that all the players on it every weekend. If the club drug test Coyle in their investigation, they could probably look at testing the lot as well.
I think we can do better at RB, but depending on how urgent sales are there are lots of other positions on the pitch that take a bigger priority.
I think Drameh has all the ability to be a decent full back for us, but heard rumours he’s not particularly bothered. If his head was right, I think he’d develop into a good full-back at this level, started the season well and looked our best player in pre-season.
I think at this point these rumours are fairly meaningless. Most sides performing badly have twitter posts claiming that the players are on coke these days. As PLT says I feel like football would know if it was as big an issue as it’s claimed.
