I'm still not convinced Acun owns Maribor. I know it doesn't mean much but when you look at their Wikipedia page there's no mention of him, I can't see anything linking him to them beyond him supposedly writing programme notes for them. No one talks about his ownership of them (Baz, the club, etc.) there's been no links to players from there etc. It all just seems like smoke and mirrors.
They was almost the default back then too. Pompey, QPR, Sunderland etc didn’t have them either I believe. It seems to be quite typical of big spending clubs targeting players that are perhaps on paper a bit beyond our station. I really wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the suspected bigger earners like Omur, Belloumi, Matazo etc didn’t have them.
I did hear last summer, independent of Howden and ST, that Acun did want to sell then but couldn’t find a buyer. Howden also heard the same. Then he did his Q&A and did the Jordan Belfort ‘I’m not ****ing leaving!’. Maybe my source was wrong and maybe Howden’s was wrong too. Or maybe he couldn’t find a buyer and didn’t want to lose face so reframed the narrative. I would wager his asking price for the club has gone down since last summer and there may be a few serious parties that are interested.
Imagine being Acun and trying to juggle all these major commitments he has, with only 24 hours in a day. And trying to fit sleep in as well.
You could be right, but in that case they would likely have release clauses to let them skip town cheaply, which gets the expensive wages gone regardless. Matazo obviously aside.

... as well as reading the absolute ****e on here. Btw, will people also please stop with this stupid 'flip the club' once we get to the PL. He's made it clear on several occasions that that isn't his aim, never was. He's spoken about getting to the PL ( ) as being the start, not the end, about making us competitive in there, etc etc. I ask again, why the **** do people make up and / or continue to peddle such self harm bollox about the club they supposedly support? It's bonkers. p.s. of course he'll sell at some time, but stop making **** up.
I’m an acun fan and don’t agree with a lot that’s written about him on here. Although I’ve always been under the impression his plan was to sell us if he got us in the PL. I’m ok with that, he puts his money in and takes the gamble, hits the pl jackpot and cashes out with a profit. That’s life, he makes a profit and we are in the pl. everyone’s happy

I've never heard anything from him nor those around him suggesting that was the case; only heard the opposite. This is what I mean about self harm rumours peddled that grow legs and then become established in people's mind. What exactly has he done that makes you believe he'll flip us as soon as we get to the PL (although that's a mute point atm), what has he done that so clearly in your mind over-rides what's come out of his & others mouths about his intentions?
