I think it was very soon after he bought the club that the narrative was floated that his plan was to essentially get us to the PL and then flip us for a profit. People told me I'd misunderstood or that wasn't the real story behind the scenes but it seems very clearly to be the case.
And Acun's wiping the debt? Or when you say the consortium bit is true literally just that there's an interested consortium? Is it dependent on our league status?
I do have a pass, but otherwise this is exactly my view. I don’t have any ability to influence (other than cheering the team in the ground) so what will be will be. If we go down I’ll still go assuming we continue to exist and if we don’t then I guess I’ll stop
So, most of this is coming from someone who has been right before, but has also been wrong, and who does tend to exaggerate? Right? Of course it's a worrying time. I get that. But seems to me that wild rumours pop up and grow massive legs. Turkey trip cancelled coz there's no money - or a decision by Selles & his team that it'd be better staying here. The latter for me every day of the week. Lost interest and no more freebies. Yet here last Saturday and laying coaches on for this Saturday. Hmmn Puerta, Matazo, Josepth, tried for others. Hmmn. Safe standing coming, further pitch investment recently done. I'm not saying everything is rosey money wise, especially if we go down, of course it's not a bottomless pit, but nah, I don't buy all these wild rumours being touted (and not just this one). Unfortunately it's what tends to happen when things on the pitch aren't going well. Self harm. TWT.
So when the club folds as this is clearly the end times Which team you going to? I might become a barnsley fan
Yes the no more freebies line puzzled me too, in the week where the club is lashing out £20k or so on free coaches to Portsmouth. It’s by no means as black and white as some have convinced themselves. Obviously is worrying - there are adverse financial implications from relegation that affect every club, not just one owned by Acun Medya. But too many assumptions are now being bandied around as fact.
Have quite enjoyed watching Brid Town when city are away so would continue with them, and as Syd says, City at whatever level they are at.
Can only assume pass prices are going to be going up and they didn’t want to break the news during a relegation scrap to cause a mass exodus.
