Almost 1 in 2 last season at a mid table side. Definitely a punt but seems like one we should be going for.

 

I don’t mind us signing a few free agents like Emreli. Won’t cost loads in wages you’d imagine and is an option. I think our recruitment under Acun has been really poor for the most part, with a few really good signings scattered in there.

 

I don’t know anything about him, would you say he might be a better option than Pedro?

Me neither. His numbers look decent and he’s out-of-contract though. His wage demands won’t be astronomical either as Bundesliga 2 has fairly modest wages compared to even mid-table Championship teams.

A lot of City fans are wary of Bundesliga 2 because our main exposure has been Nick Proschwitz and Tim Walter but there are plenty of talented players at that level. I don’t think Bundesliga 2 is that far off the Championship in terms of quality. It’s certainly not on the same level as our League One. Nürnberg have had some talented players who have made big money moves to Bundesliga teams and are excelling. Can Uzun and Finn Jeltsch being two examples this season just gone.

 

Tanaka at leeds was probably the best holding midfielder in the division last season and he was from there too

 

Impressed with the Emreli vid, as always it's possible to make manucho look like Pele in these things but it was his strength that impressed me on a number of occasions, any idea why he's available on a free?

 

Couldn't agree terms on a new contract last season apparently.
