I’d be all for a few from Croatia. Despite their small country size they do seem to churn out consistently good players
I assumed he was an ethnic Croat from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I just checked and his home city has a fairly even split of Croats and Bosniaks with Croats being the slight majority. His dad’s name was Enver though and that’s a Bosniak/Muslim name so who knows.
He was born in Mostar which at the time was Yugoslavia and now is in Bosnia Herzegovina. Many from the old Yugoslavia used historical family links to get Slovenia or Croatian citizenship thereby gaining the freedom to travel in the EU.
Well I know we're absolutely definitely signing one on the first day of the January window according to Jim and his contacts.
This is absolute nail on head and what people seem to just completely disregard. Yes the defense was solid, because we sacrificed all attacking intent. But they just can't progress the ball quickly to attackers, which means the attackers get the ball either with their back to a defender or absolutely swamped, therefore having no option to do anything decent. We drastically need full backs who can move the ball and themselves up the pitch quickly!
Gelhardt... Initially, any thoughts of a permanent deal were thought to be extremely unlikely, with Leeds believed to have wanted upwards of £7m to £8m for the forward, but that somewhat unrealistic valuation has been downgraded to a more feasible £3m, which could see City in the hunt, though the fact his wages have doubled following Leeds' promotion presents a big challenge to any club in the second tier. It's rumoured that his wage has gone from £15k a week to £30k a week.
id say he’s worth it on at least 20k, good output in a ****e outfit last year id like to see him back
Agreed, 20k a week wages and a 3m fee would be good business, depends who else is in for him of course as to whether 20k would be enough
As we've got a new manager we may not even be interested in Gelhardt any more. The club decided against continuity.
Meanwhile Louie Barry is allegedly heading to Birmingham City.... Oh drat...Not that we saw much of him in B&A.
It wasn’t the back four’s fault we didn’t attack properly. It was Walter’s game plan for the centre of midfield to not get involved in the build up at all. So we were left in a situation Pandur and the defence looked up and saw the centre mids actively running away from them and hiding behind opposition players. Therefore they’re left with finding the wide players who were marked out the game. So they either pass it amongst themselves or launch it down the line, which is what they did.
He made an invaluable contribution whilst here at something like 20k a minute )(and before people jump in I know its not the actual figure)
I'd leave Geldhart alone... too one footed for me, not instinctive., missed countless chances. I'm sure the new manager knows who he wants. to sort out our goal drought.
