Given that strikers are finally going to get service (with what Acun said about 'if it takes 10 winger signings' to make sure we have proper wingers, and Millar & Belloumi returning) ...... McBurnie, with Pedro as back up, plus Burstow & Joseph as further back up and to learn off those two (not be loaned out). That would be us sorted for next season, and who knows, maybe ones after that too, and without having to break the bank, take punts, etc.
Problem is for me, someone like Burstow needs to play or he’ll plateau. He could definitely go to a top end league 1 team score a load then even come back in Jan high flying.
Not a massive fan of the prospect of Bilic at all. He does have a championship promotion on his record but that was with a pretty strong side, a lot of underwhelming spells elsewhere. Not very forward thinking at all and does not suggest anything like a patient and measured approach to developing a side, not to mention him not fitting the apparent style of football Acun wants?? Hopefully the warm reception to the potential of Riera has opened that door up because I would much prefer that. *Sorry wrong thread
Any talk of bringing Lincoln back is really missing the lessons we should've learned from the last few seasons. We've made far too many of that kind of signing and got nothing out of them. Some people take players like him more seriously because of their background compared to a Slater or a Joseph, but those players were trusted to play by the manager almost every week and Lincoln, as with so many of these expensive luxury players from Turkey, usually wasn't. We need a smaller squad of players who we fully believe in, who can cope with the demands of this league and stay fit.
Drameh is an interesting one.....possibly under used last year.....possibly not used as he wasn't quite at it.....Selling him for 1m may sound attractive as it's almost all profit, but to replace him would cost potentially a similar amount so makes you wonder if it's worth it? Really will depend on what's out there, we'd nearly all like to see an improvement at full back, and if we're bringing in re-enforcements at right as well as left full back one of them will need to go
We seem to have a bit of a bad habit of not giving players the time and writing them off very quickly. Especially full backs when it's inevitable that they make mistakes. I appreciate it's difficult to allow time in a relegation battle but the issue proceeds that.
Plymouth wanted him. With Bundu leaving and potentially Hardie too, I suspect they'll be back for him.,
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/hull-city-seeking-new-investor-10205686 Looks like the ITKers were at least somewhat right about the club’s financial decisions. He may have to sell part of the club to new investors.
If he can't do a deal with Millwall, I think Acun will be trying to do business with Turki Alalshikh, He's got the cash, probably a similar ideological lens and most importantly his name ticks the box.
