He'd tear up the championship and would be really good for his development. Though he would get kicked to **** most weeks. Incredibly unlikely anyway.
He does need to choose the correct club Southampton to Man U = Morgan Schneiderlin/Luke Shaw. Southampton to Liverpool = Virgil Van Dyke/Sadio Mane.
And if he did, he’d need to liven up on recent performances. I’ve been surprised how he’s not getting involved as much as for example Mateus. I know it’s a tough league etc but watching him sometimes is a bit disappointing. My 18 year old grandson said at our last match much the same thing. When he does, things happen.
I do think he is being a bit over hypes because of our record at developing top young players. If we can get £40m i think we'll look back at that as great business.
He's only just turned 19, Matt Le Tiss wasn't pulling up any trees consistantly until he was nearly 20. I honestly don't think that Juric is managing him well (among others) and it's not easy to shine in a team as poor as we are right now.
The raw talent is undoubtedly there in my view but we're clearly not a great place to nurture it this season. Far too much pressure was on his shoulders from very early on in the season. Said a few times though I'm pretty sure that his head has been turned also and he knows he's off in the summer.
To be fair, after supporting Saints for nearly 50 years and how **** we are this year, my head has been turned.
It does make me annoyed that while saints are decaying and most of the team are putting in half arsed performances, our few talents are working on their big exciting moves. They will walk away from our mess of a club and not look back. Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.
