BBD has returned to Saints. Sheffield United will not be buying him. Maybe Still can work with him. Give him a fresh start - could be a big asset in the Championship.
Looks like Delap to Chelsea is done. Not great for Ipswich, with not a massive profit made plus a 20% sell on clause to city. Rumoured to be trying to get Marc Guiu on loan from Chelsea.
This would be a great deal to pull off, but unlikely as he been linked to clubs in Italy and Spain after an impressive season.
Don’t think he’ll kick off to go. Has also said he loves the area, fans etc. Guess it will come down to money being offered??
An unusually hot spring has helped us keep Fernandes - praise the lord Trying (and failing) not to get too carried away after that interview. At worst he isn't going to force a move, at best he has been told he is staying and is happy to put things right with promotion.
If and it’s a big if, we can keep Fernandes along with the spine of Downes, Charles, Edward’s, add a decent GK and striker, automatic promotion would be a big possibility. Think they’ll all improve under Still’s tactics and coaching as well.
All this means is they won't be buying him on the terms agreed in the loan. Which was the assumption when they didn't go up. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come in for him again if we are happy to let him got for around £5m.
Interesting as I had heard through the grapevine that the atmosphere was pretty terrible at the club. This was back in January and I can’t see how it would have got much better
If he stays..... I genuinely think they should make him ****ing captain. What a player, the only one this season who never gave up. Oh christ, it's the bloody hope which kills you!
Through past experience, I've learned not to get my hopes up... But is he our next icon? Devil/ angel on the shoulder type thing!
These updates are making me very happy. Charles, Downes and Fernandes = odds on for promotion in my book.
