There's a few teams that might be interested in Ramsdale. Hopefully they all turn that interest into bids. I didn't think we were likely to make money on him unless he ended up being the best keeper in the league this season, or if multiple teams with big wallets want a new no.1 next season. He's been very good, but if Man Utd, Chelsea, Bournemouth, West Ham? maybe some others that I haven't thought of. Newcastle were linked at one point. Leeds if they go up etc.
Yeah, I think we'd do very well to get £40m. We need to be a little less rose tinted and look at what he actually is/has done. Yes, there's a great deal of latent talent there, but he's scored 2 goals and has zero assists, which isn't "oh look, the new Nwaneri" stuff. I know we're an awful team, but even so. He's also shown a lack of great decision making on the ball, and a so-so attitude. I suspect he'll go for £30-35m, then a lot of the usuals say that Spors is terrible as a result. But in reality, that's what he's looked. He could go on to be really good, or he could easily stall. If Lavia was 50, Dibs is 35.
That maybe so but given there's at least half a dozen clubs interested in him I think we can drive the price up beyond 40mill. The fact that he's English will also appeal to English clubs in Europe. Teams will be buying him based on his potential, not what he's done in a really bad team. I'd be amazed if we authorised a sale for 30mill I really would.
I guess I have to live in the real world, and understand "those" clubs are the ones we should have been competing with. Only for SR to completely f**k it up.
You're spot on. Fans need to take a look at what he's actually achieved (**** all) albeit in a really poor team. Seems to me there's a bit of a Bertie big bollocks attitude problem as well. As for where he goes? He cares? If Sheffield Wednesday offered us 25p more than Barca then send him there. Once a player has left us I don't give one shiny ****e about their career.
Yeah agreed. He's fallen off massively as the season has gone on. Now that's not entirely his fault of course as it's an incredibly tough situation to be in as a young player in his first professional season. I do feel his head has been turned though. I still have some misguided hope that we might be negotiate a season back on loan. Think a season in the championship would do him the world of good and he'd be unplayable there.
Dibling has not looked the part for ages. There is a brilliant player there but not even sure he 8s worth a starting place at the moment.
Where are you getting this? I guess he must be pushing for a move but not sure there’s an attitude problem. He would obviously be better off playing every week in the championship than getting a move to a half decent team. If he goes off the boil he will find himself in the reserves quickly.
https://sportwitness.co.uk/contact-initiated-to-sign-southampton-player-possibility-of-forcing-exit/ Sulemana now being linked with a move away. Hopefully one thing Juric may have done, is up the value of Sulemana?
Whilst he has recently shown glimpses to suggest he could be a dangerous player outside of a possession based system, I think if we can get close to what we paid we should just do it.
