The reporter who broke the Edozie to Strasbourg story, Sacha Tavolieri, is saying the fee is roughly £7m, could be closer to £8m

    Edit: Damn it Tom!

£4m plus 100% of salary plus £20m option to purchase is pretty decent. Leaves the door open for him to come back as well, potentially

Worst outcome if you didn’t want to go into this season with Bazunu/McCarthy as the options

Unless we follow suit and bring in a loan of our own, presumably

Yeah, that is presumably our play now if we are bringing in a new keeper. Domestically not sure who could be realistic off the top of my head.

Ramsdale was always going to leave and at least this way we will make a profit if he does leave permanently and there is a chance we keep him next season.

£4 million loan is a massive deal plus them paying all his £6 million a year in wages.
With Edozie going plus this fee, our incoming transfer fees are now over £40 million.

The only senior third choice PL keepers who I can think might be looking for a move are Dubravka and Meslier (assuming that Darlow remains ahead of Meslier). I wouldn't want to go anywhere near Meslier, and I presume if we were interested in Dubravka then that might have featured within the Ramsdale talks.

Gunn and Fraser I believe are both still free agents...

(Oh, Ortega too. But I ignored him because he's clearly not coming here.)

Atletico Madrid now linked to Fernandes.
If this is true, it will be bye bye.

He pulls off the odd wonder save and is good with the ball at his feet. Which means it can be easy in highlights to make it look like he's something special. Especially in early years when not under the microscope.

But he's got a ton of howlers in him, is questionable at basic shot stopping, and poor at dealing with crosses and set pieces.

Leeds replaced him with Darlow just in time last season. I'm not sure if they'd have got promoted without that switch. A bit like when we replaced Bazunu with McCarthy, albeit in our case it was enforced.

I wish him well, unlike some, sorry to see him go as despite his weaknesses, he will come good and will be exciting to watch, but new broom and all that. Best wishes Sam

I’ll be sad to see edozie go. I think he had real potential.
