I think Greg was referring to you can only register 2 loans at one time in your PL squad. So if Ugochukwu and Hugo needed to be registered we couldn’t register anyone else

My understanding is neither would need to be registered so in theory we could loan in 2 more players and all 4 of them could play in the PL at the same time. Only restriction would be only one of them could come from another PL side; and that side couldn't be Chelsea

Think you can have 4 loans which includes a maximum 2 loans from different premier league clubs

Absolutely yeah. I understand why we are selling and not getting much. We need the money to reinvest elsewhere but as an isolated transfer it isn't exactly great business.

So we are getting rid of a player we all acknowledge Martin doesn’t want, presumably freeing up money/squad space to buy players he does want. We are also getting a player in return who seems promising but might not be ready to play for us yet so loaning him out.

You can think we aren’t getting a high enough fee for Alcaraz but there’s only so much we can do if there is as limited interest as it appears.

If he was part of the deal for Charly then fine. But sounds like he would be loaned to Goztepe from Flamengo and then we'll have to buy him! **** that.

Maybe. Or we are getting a highly rated player at a discount, with a loan to buy option to help spread the cost and bank the Alcaraz transfer this season when we really need it before loaning the talented youngster we've aquired to an affiliate European club to help a young south American player and then introduce him properly to the first team next season.

I'm fine with it.(Though you can't loan a player already on loan to you so that won't be the actual structure)

One thing I'd like to see is Goztepe playing a similar style to us!!

Pretty sure a Saints player - who the manager has talked about wanting to keep at the club - with a contract expiring in less than 1yr, signing a new deal during the transfer window is relevant and of interest to readers of the transfer window thread, Tom. Just because you've got a forum moderator tag on your account doesn't mean you need to over-mod the place

Edit: Just seen that it was Tom who posted about Bednarek in the Saints Stuff thread. Suspect that is the real reason for having an issue here

Which will get lost in amongst this Charly stuff, plus other rumours that come in. Easier to keep contract stuff in the Saints stuff thread. I'm not over-modding, I'm using common sense.

Yeah so we can’t register more than 2 at a time. Didn’t read the whole article, did it address the u21 registration for loans? If it’s as I understand it then we still have 2 potential loan spots available for registration
