Yeah I think so, but didn't we start on the Man City youth thing before we brought Shields in anyway?
I don’t think so - that was the summer we signed 4 of them in one window. And we were linked with others (Borges who went to Ajax). And then we got Charles and THB last year

I remember my brother once saying Championship Manager was just a spreadsheet with footballs for decoration. Nowadays football is even more spreadsheet than CM Spreadsheet edition.

Is it? He has a completely different style to Russell Martin.
Doesn’t stop him being a good manager. I’m not sure how many football league sides can or do play like Russell Martin. It didn’t really work when he didn’t have the players for the system / was at a weaker side. Which is where the concerns about RussBall in the premier league come from

It doesn't have to be as extreme as Russball, but it surely makes sense to send Charles out on loan to a team where they look to keep possession. A high pressing team is about as polar opposite as you can get to a possession based team. That's my concern.

Depends if the strategy is to train him to solely play in our system or to find him a loan move where we can maximise his future value while just exposing him to regular action

'Russ-ball' is not just about passing though. He's very much into pressing the opposition high up when out of possession.

Also, Shea just needs playing time. That's the priority. Whatever system is very much secondary. He needs to improve with the basics, particularly passing.
