If the tax free thing was really a factor then you’d think Monaco would be far more of a lure - second only to PSG. I expect players actually negotiate salary on a “net” basis and it’s for the clubs to worry about how much that costs them. Indeed when I was in Slovenia on holiday last year they discussed average salaries on a trip I was on and it was net of taxes. And Alan Brazil always used to shout about “netto” for the players at Italian clubs. I think it’s a Europe thing
Didn’t know they had made the champions league this year. As I said - I’m not sure we were ever truly in the running.

Monaco/Monte Carlo has F1 cars in the streets. Southampton has naked cyclists in the streets. Mostly fat middle-aged men, although I wasn't staring, officer
