Perhaps it isn’t peanuts in the context of how much of an upgrade he’d really be. Assuming he’s looking to go an try and be first choice

If he wants a good shot at first choice that rules out the traditional big 6 and Newcastle - apart from arguably Man United - who look to be going for the player West Ham wanted instead

Villa have Cash and Palace have Munoz and 15m isn’t going to improve them in those positions.

So that seemed to really leave West Ham and Brighton because the rest of the sides are all on the slate a potential strugglers who are both arguably not that big a step up and also probably have higher priorities for the 15m especially when the player in questions is in theory available for free next year

West Ham have been sort of documented and he doesn’t seem like a Brighton signing. They’d rather pluck a gem from somewhere for a third of the cost and fair play to them. Weren’t they linked with the guy we signed to “replace” KWP. That shows the market they are in

Sure this could go out the window if he wants to go and challenge at one of the biggest sides and rely on his versatility to help with that

Back in the day when other leagues had money he might have been an option for some overseas. But English players moving abroad was never that common.
But a move would seem likely as still not involved in pre season friendlies?

Are Palace still wheeling out Joel Ward and the corpse of Nathaniel Clyne?

No they signed Munoz in January, has looked decent from what I’ve seen.

We obviously are expecting him to leave with the Sugawara signing, just a question of how desperate we are to get a fee. Can see it happening quite late in the window and be a case of who blinks first over the fee

Oh maybe not then. Brentford possibly if he wants to move back to London. As Greg says doesn’t seem to be many obvious fits, Wolves?
I’m just not sure I buy the idea of “he has one year left on his contract so he will leave for any premier league club that will stump up the cash”. I appreciate there seems to be a big gap between the promoted sides and even the rest of the stragglers from last year but that doesn’t mean KWP signs on for just anyone. Especially when in one year he is a free agent and things could change with other clubs. Granted things could change with him as well

Having watched the pre seasons so far, both Dibbling and Sam AA are significantly better than Mara and Suli and these two need to be moved on and not block the path of talented youngsters
A serious point, we simply don’t have a decent goalkeeper, got four in the squad and there isn’t a decent one between them
I guess it’s reassuring to know exactly the outcome of our season before it starts if we don’t get a new goalkeeper in - which we won’t. What I am not looking forward to is the panicked January attempts to sign or loan a goalkeeper when it’s too late and we are likely to get screwed. It’s obvious now but clearly the budget priorities are elsewhere

The club clear don’t want to take the enormous write off on Bazunu which I get but it’s too late really. He was never premier league standard and one year out is only going to make that worse.

I guess the crumbs to cling to is that there have been keeper links which you’d like to think wouldn’t have come from nowhere but could have been speculation based on gossip people spotting the obvious hole that the club hasn’t

January will probably be the return of Bazunu rather than signing a keeper.

Completely agree. Mara and Sulemana did nothing in the championship despite plenty of time. If we’re chasing a game in the PL we may as well use SAA and Dibling, may not get us the wins but at least we will be giving youth a chance.
