Really hope so. Watching him at Wembley in particular, I sensed that win and achievement in our shirt meant something to him, as well of course, those already on our books.
Signing Downes would be good of course, just have to hope it doesn’t eat too much into our budget for this season.
Im (naively probably) hoping that with the amount of money made last summer, and the relatively little we spent in comparison, we set aside some of that money to make any loan deal permanent (for example the £20m for THB I’m hoping came out of last years budget rather than anything planned for this year). If we are spending roughly £40m on Downes and THB and have only like £10m more for other signings then we are in real trouble.
Can only judge this of course at the end of the window, but I’m hoping that we budgeted for possibly making all the summer loans permanent last summer.

I want Adams to stay despite not thinking he is good enough to be our starting striker. I think if we bring someone else in and have Adams & Stewart as back up (Arma too if needed) that is a pretty strong situation to be in.
For Saints to mention themselves that Adams and McCarthy are in contract negotiations I can only think there must be mutual interest in signing from both parties.
Be interesting how it plays out. You think they’d both want some assurances over playing time. Signing both to be starters I can’t imagine will go down well with most fans
I don't mind Adams being a starter when he has a strike partner. We saw how good he was with Ings.
Adams is too good to be back up, but just not quite good enough to score enough goals as our main striker.
