Really? Taylor will be almost 31 by the time the season starts.
By your logic, everyone who reaches their 30th birthday immediately becomes “over 30”. While technically and mathematically correct, it’s not how people actually think of how old people are.

“30 or over” would be a better phraseology.

As someone whose next birthday is their 29th, I totally agree. :)

Maybe, but in this scenario we're considering who's going to be over 30 this season coming in the squad. As both Jack and Taylor will turn 31 during the season, I personally consider both to be over 30 in this scenario.

Ipswich are quite likely to go straight back down again (same as us), so I guess the players they are buying will be both low wages and excellent at Championship level to get them straight back up again the following year, with the potential that they will be good enough for lower half PL level too. Incremental improvements over multiple windows when there is little room to maneuvre with the bollocks that is FFP.
Yep, I’m sure that’s part of our thinking as well. Hopefully we’ll be shooting a bit higher but it’s a really difficult challenge for any mid sized club.

Our financial situation seemed so precarious due to the loan and some expensive mistakes (pre and post SR) that it might take a couple of goes to stabilise in the premier league. Hopefully not. But the gap now seems so large and the financial rules look quite toothless and quite easy to cheat unless the league come down hard on the shenanigans at the end of June (they won’t).

We probably need to sell at least some people but it seems that unless it’s part of a clearly dodgy player trade to cheat the rules most clubs are being careful about spending

In the replies he says it's not Angel Gomes and it's not Ludovic Blas, who is too old (26)
