O’Riley to Brighton now official. Bet he tears us to shreds when we face them just to rub salt into the wound.

If we had been able to sell ABK, Tall Paul and Sulemana early then maybe. But having so many areas to try and improve across the team still probably not.

I don’t think we are trying to sell Sulemana in the same way we are the others. Sure if we got a decent bid in for him then we’d probably take it, but with ABK, Onuachu and Alcaraz it feels like the club are actively looking to sell them, I don’t get that impression with Sulemana. Could be we are and no takers, the Mara deal seem to come from nowhere and very quickly he was gone.

I think the poster meant no more 3 cb's or 5 at the back jus to fit our current captain by giving jwp back the armband
I think the question is really whether JWP is significantly better than those we have - and for me I think ‘better’ but ‘significantly’? Not so sure. Anyway I guess it’s hypothetical

Given the fact we’ve brought in Downes, Fernandes and Ugochukwu plus have Aribo and Smallbone. It seems unlikely that we’d spend what’s left of our budget to bring JWP back when we need to spend that money on attackers. Sounds like the GK is coming in on loan too, so that’s our other loan spot used, so we wouldn’t be able to bring him back on loan either.

Bijlow is supposedly coming on loan though which rules out further loans doesn’t it?

All depends if Ugochukwu has to be registered in the PL squad. His age suggests he doesn’t which means we can still register 2 loans in the squad (Bijlow and another)
