Hmm, Rather bring in O'Riley. Sara is heading to Palace anyway I think.
This would be good. I can see him fitting our current style of play very well. Of Norwich's main assets (+ Rowe, Sargent and Sainz) he would be the one who would work the best for us.

After Clarke, I think Sara is the Championship player who I'm most wanting us to sign.
This season was Norwich's final one with parachute payments, so they might be forced into selling a player or two this summer.

Their finances weren't great before that, either. As of the end of the 2022-23 (last) season, they had £2.3m cash on hand against debts of £85.0m...they did a fair bit of belt-tightening this season to steady things, but I'd imagine that everyone is available at the right price.
Picking the best of the championship (Clarke, Sara, O'Hare) is smart business when getting promoted.
Partly because as Saints fans we know full well how players can make the step up in the right team (Lambert, Fonte, Lallana, etc) but also because they are affordable, on sensible wages and if you do get relegated then you have an elite team to bounce back.
Sometimes. But lallana lambert Fonte Schneiderlin etc came up from league one and the same time, that’s 3 seasons together before coming to the PL.
We would be integrating players straight into a PL side.
Honestly, I am not fond of the bloke for what he did a decade ago, but at worst this does 0 damage to the club and its performance in the PL next season... unless hes our only signing in midfield. Doubt we are paying him much (in football terms).
I just worry it’s a waste of a squad space and lacks ambition. Obviously this depends on who else we sign.
