1 Starting GK, 23 back up.
2 Starting right back, 12 back up.
3 starting left back, 21 back up.
5, 6 starting centre backs, 15 & 22 back ups.
4,8,10 starting central midfielders based on how advanced they are. 16, 18, 20 back ups.
7 and 11 starting wingers, 14 and 17 back ups.
9 starting striker and then 19 for your back up.

Anything else is woke nonsense

Only change I’d make is if you are playing 2 up front, 10 is your target man and 9 is your nippy striker

I just hope it’s competitive, Walter has been sold short at a critical stage in his career here. He has a lot to prove to some who can’t let go of Rosenior (not aimed at you Syd) so things could easily get toxic early if we are getting drubbed.

I don’t think it’ll be a case of not letting Rosenior go - more that the people content with him were probably expecting 6th at least with Liam in charge and would be disappointed if that isn’t the progress we actually end up seeing this season.

I think it’ll only start getting toxic if we really do go a few weeks without being competitive. If it’s fun football and we look like we are improving I hope we’ll see patience.

I think some can’t wait to jump on Walter in favour of Rosenior at the minute. They also want to give him all credit for transfers still (which has since been discredited as an argument in the recent days)

Like you say most can understand the context of the present situation but obviously under Rosenior we’d have been much more risk averse. Literally anything could happen today and it’s both incredibly exciting and terrifying

I haven’t been reading in depth, but have people really been jumping on Walter? I’ve more seen understanding that he hasn’t got the players he needs.

I think he’s actually come across pretty well so far.I hope it works out because it’s been a long time since we’ve bucked a playing style trend (if ever - maybe Bruce leaning into 3 at the back or Brown’s attacking line ups in the PL?)

No one has been jumping on Walter but people (Slater’s dad included) have been concerned by the goals conceded in pre season. So will be an interesting one today for sure.

I personally believe that most of them won’t have been playing at full due to Walter not wanting injury

And if we do, brilliant, but as you say it'll be luck that gets us over the line. Bristol are in for a good season.

I think they'll really struggle this season unless they bring in more quality. They spent about £6m last season, which isn't a lot relatively speaking, but you've got to ask where the £38m from selling Alex Scott, Antoine Semenyo, Kasey Palmer and Dan Bentley went.

I always feel like they’re a bit of a bogey team for us in recent years. We last beat them under Shota which was a dodgy penalty and a deflection.

1 win against them since we were relegated from the premier league just checked

Although just looking at an old match day sheet, what you have is how City lined up, so my apologies on that front.

I think they've made some astute signings, I think Mayulu is a good striker, and rate Manning as a manager.

But he's a loan with no option. I thought you was supposed to be bright :emoticon-0105-wink:

I don't understand the point you're trying to make? Are you suggesting we're going to be forced to play him in the XI?

If he's **** or slow to get up to speed then he won't start. If he's good he'll start and that helps our team. That's all there is to it.

Ah , so we’ll score lucky goals , Pandaur will make lucky saves and our defenders will make lucky tackles and interceptions, football isn’t it?

Given the likely starting XI in a few hours will have scored essentially no goals over pre-season nor last season, with virtually no goals created either, yes I think if we were to suddenly click and score goals against Bristol City it would be quite fortunate.

I still think he's a weird signing from all sides.

He's coming in to back up a CB who doesn't miss games and whilst he could break through in midfield, he's got Simons and Zambrano to get past. I still think we'll bring in 2 more CBs if Macca also leaves.

I get that it's a body and someone with utility but I don't get why Man City would send him here to get limited minutes when he could be going back into L1 and playing weekly for a promotion-hunting side. He's only played something like 8 games at CB, so I'm sure they'd be keen for him to get some proper experience in his natural position.
