Great to get some decent signings in but still feel it's too little too late. Would love to be proven wrong with win tomorrow and happy to take the abuse that will come with it
Maybe too late for tomorrow and I agree there is no world where it wouldn’t have been better to have these signings in two weeks ago Other clubs did But it’s done now Hopefully any new recruits that do play don’t get injured due to lack of fitness Come on City
Seems though for some of the players they wanted they have had to be patient not just because of pre season stuff or competitions but also the agents and players talking to other clubs, just means if they come it is because they want to so it is probably worth the wait to get the players you want.
For all the talk on here about long-term v short-term - these all feel like decent long term options (obviously with the exception of Burn). Young - some with experience already - but all with the chance of improvement. You'd imagine they won't all work out - but I'm fairly pleased. More though please.
I'm trying to rewrite my mindset from constant negativity. I want to go into the new season now with these players hoping they can put in a good performance and we get the opening 3 points. You ever know! New manager, new players might be the boon we need. They may set the season a light from the off. I gave that hope myself anyway.
Would be suicide to throw these players in without a week's training and testing minimum. There is no rush for me. We beat Brizzle without them and then bring then in once they've settled.
I agree about not throwing them straight in less risk of injury so better to get some training in first for week or two, not an issue if we don’t win till the window closes but looking at the players we now have and potentially to come in when they click I could quite easily believe they could steamroller their way up the league they do look like very good players and could become a very very good team. Even me thinking no wins this month I am still going to throw a bet at winning the league I do think they could end up good enough.
Well that looks a bit better doesn't it, and kudos to Acun, true to his word. Pleased with what we've managed to get in so far, and excited to see a couple more permanent enter the tigers lair. Have to say if we can get Hughes and a good striker over the line on a permanent I'll be well chuffed, together with the Columbian lad
I hope Charlie Hughes is seeing whats happening (sure he is ) and that he's telling Wigan... let me go...
People have an issue believing that the squad that completed pre season could compete tomorrow. They got beat by Doncaster and Reading because it was a training match. Apart from Jacob there isn't one player you would class as a first team player that I don't think is good enough for the championship in those pre season squads. They will be fine tomorrow. Not pretty but job will be done.
Would be so good to bring him in on top of the new guys we just got think a lot of these journos predictions will change.
Couple of nice forwards in case Oscar does want to go back to Bahia or somewhere home to play spoke to my lad earlier and he told me Will Lankshear is a beast if we get him, he also said Jacob had been looked at to but he said atm they won’t be looking again yet.
