Either (or both?) these guys would suit me. Dan Johnson is a far better option than Sawyers has proved to be in midfeld and Onomah is miles better than Ojo - I remember him sticking a glorious goal past us for Fulham in the playoffs. Both are on a free if we've got the balls to go for it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66031203
Johnson has had a good career at Preston with 257 league games and 48 goals. 1 in every 5 or so, good for a midfielder. Misses 8 or 9 games a season due to injury/suspension. My reservation with him is his age, 31 in October. Younger than Ramsey though. Onomah is certainly a good player and was highly rated by the fans coming through the ranks at Spurs but, as ever there, homegrown players didn't get the opportunities they deserved. Dele Ali, while he was a good player, was his main barrier to first team football. His main problem over the years has been injuries. Since leaving Spurs he has managed only 77 appearances in 6 years including 31 in 1 season for Fulham. During which he scored the excellent goal Sparks mentions above. If he can be kept fit he would be great for us in a no. 10 role. But that is a big IF!!! Of the 2 Johnson looks the better if offered a contract of no more than 2 years perhaps with a one year option held by the club.
The last sentence is intreaguing. I wonder where the recruitment team are looking. Would be nice to have a few older heads with experience of the league. I can see more from abroad than from within our league structure.
Personally I think we should be aiming higher... Should be aiming for the ZZ Top in my book! (Just grabbing my jacket on the way out)...
Could these be the start? https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
I am for keeping Ojo and getting rid of Wintle, Sawyers, Rhino and Romeo in just two games their mistakes cost us 4 goals. Ojo makes good runs but was costly by not passing but then at the back end he was passing, if he goes back to his old ways of running into a wall of players drop him but if not he will be fine.Wintle caused a lot of problems in attack unfortunately for our team, Romeo makes runs loses the ball or his passing is useless, Rhino is a passenger, Sawyers should do a lot better but doesn`t. Take those four players out of the team and things look much better, Notice these players don`t get injured because only the players doing all the good work get injured.
Derby possibly interested; more his level. Will remember his winners v Sunderland & Blackburn more than anything last season but he just didn’t cut it. Best of luck to him
Ogbo seems an odd one. Gets loaned out, taken on permanently, then loaned out. Whoever signs him no longer wants him.
Sky are paying 4 places at 66-1 for winning the league. If we get Ogbo and Gousto we will be looking good...look out Leeds!
how the bloody hell are we suppose to remember the names of these players, any jones out there want to join or rees .
Pleased to read Joel Bagan signed up for 3 more years. Thought he had a raw deal last season when COD & even Ralls were picked ahead of him when he was fit again. Hope he - like King - have a chance next season
