Bournemouth were hopeful of signing Daka from Leicester but the deal has fallen through. Moore might be staying at Bournemouth now.
Well, that all became a bit of an anti-climax in the end eh? I know we're probably being a bit greedy but shame we couldn't get another CB and striker in. Just hope we can get Robbo fit ASAP now.
Well, it's quiet on here this morning. Is everyone underwhelmed by our deadline day business, exhausted by the window in general, content with a job well done or just apathetic with the whole situation? For me, I'm glad we got most of our business done early with players already integrated into the squad, Panzo being the exception, but desperately needed. Still work to be done, but the squad have had time together. A striker would have been nice, but I feel we have enough goals in the front 4, whoever plays. We only scored 41 goals last season, as Clingo highlighted some time ago, 2nd lowest in the league. We need 60+ to get us towards the top of the table, besides tightening up at the back. Grant, Meite, Robinson, Bowler and Ramsey all have goals in them. O'Dowda, Wintle, Ralls and Colwill can chip in with a few. Ugbo an unknown quantity, but somehow seems to know where the back of the net is. I don't think we'll get the 4 or 5 each from our CBs this year. Saying that, there should be 60 goals in there somewhere. So, for the next 4 months, its all about what the coaches can get out of the players we have. Unless there's an 'unattached' gem out there somewhere.......
To have brought in the players they did given the constraints, the club deserve a clap but in hindsight none of those constraints would have been in place had the club sorted out the Sala saga more diligently. Once free of those shackles in January and if in a decent league position, City will be able to buy players ie Moore (and others) if available
Just reading the list of free agents that we could still sign. Thought I'd have a look at what attacking players were available. Interestingly, 5 of the 12 listed used to play for us. Masky might be interested in knowing that Gary Madine is free.
Apparently it does not matter if the striker does not score goals as many think Metie is better than Ugbo
I hope the masked man will stick by Madine and not cast him aside like his other ex lovers. Gary could do with a boost to his confidence. Have the JBs replaced that Agatha Christie bloke yet?

Obsessed with Masky (respect the name) so you are Clingy, and BFB, not so much the biker guy, overweight apparantly, but nice! Now cut it out, or I’ll be taking it to the Human Rights Organisation in Treorchy pretty damn quick! Masky
This lad looks useful and could easily be a first team cover this season given our thin centre back situation.

Other than his odd substitutions against Ipswich, Bulut still has credit in the bank with me. Another attribute I'm watching is how he developes players. For some time, we've signed players expected them to hit the ground running, then got rid when they didn't, often not playing to their strengths. Players bought and sold for less than we paid. Players in and out for nothing. No development or increase in their value. It's cost us a fortune and is a reason Tan needs to keep propping the club up financially. Erol seems a different beast. He seems happy to give players a chance and be proven wrong. Tanner, Etete and Colwill spring to mind. And we've seen improvements in performance. Many of his signings have been older players, so little room for a step change in performance and hike in value. However, it'll be interesting to see if he can pick up a few bargains and develop them, or bring some youngsters through from the academy. It would be a refreshing change. Indications are that he may do that. Time will tell.
Agree with all that you have said. The new man is rising in my estimation and I'm glad that we didn't adopt the knee jerk reaction advocated by you know who. Still not sure whether his appointment was more luck than judgment but he's getting on with things. I hope for obvious reasons that he succeeds with us but also hope he enjoys his tenure. Time to improve our reputation as well as the team.
