I agree with this. I find it difficult to be optimistic about this summer, our scouting appears to be non existent. More of the same I fear.
If there is a takeover we at least have a chance that competent people might get recruitment jobs. No takeover - no progress. Under Sandgaard we have declined markedly on the pitch. And absolutely no sign that's going to change. Even if Holden stays he cannot do miracles with more useless players.
IF there's a takeover Thomas is left with a minimal stake, no control, and his girlfriend and son are kicked ahrt, there will be a glimmer of hope. If....
Based mostly on their stats (I haven't been to a match since about November) these are the players I would be keen to see us retain; Miles Leaburn George Dobson Scott Fraser Corey Blackett-Taylor Ashley Maynard-Brewer And of course I'd love it if we could get Jesurun Rak-Sakyi back on loan again, though I think that is highly unlikely. I don't really care what happens to any of the others. Cases could be made for Sean Clare and Steven Sessegnon I guess, but I don't think any of our defenders have been above average, and Sess is on loan from Fulham so I assume he will be gone in a couple of weeks anyway. Arguments could also be made for a few of the youngsters, which is fair enough as you need players in a squad and they may have potential to develop. But I'm interested in us building a team to challenge the top 6, not one to tread water above the drop zone.
Just seen Henry irving on CL say 'big news coming today - check your phones at 3pm'. It's happening!! (maybe).... or is it just a weird alarm check in the UK yesterday afternoon: This takeover is never going to happen
I'd like to know wtf Gallen does nowadays. He took plaudits in earlier times, he seems to have gone missing and come away unscathed.
I'm not going to cream myself once the takeover happens, we'll see what new ownership is made of once they have had a transfer window.
To be fair, Robinson was on the commentary team on tuesday against MKD and said he though JRS was going to sign for Oxford, but Gallen outnegotiated him. Imagine this season without Rak-Sakyi.
You'd think that if Spiegal really meant business, and had genuine ambitions for the club, he'd have pushed the takeover through by now, to get ready for the summer business.
