And Newcastle will get 40% of Armstrong’s fee. We should just offer Celtic a 20% sell-on. It will likely make up for whatever they lose out on this time round.
Pushing to offer clubs we buy from as well. It is a way that we might have an outside chance at getting people like Abraham and the Dutch youngster since clubs know we WILL sell if they do well In the Tammy case example - there would be no chance he would join and stay here for his whole career and everyone would know it
That isn’t what my comment was about. I was trying to work out why someone from Scotland and presumably not on very big wages might be outside of a premier league clubs wage structure. Even us ...
I dont think he is outside our wage structure as his current contract stands, his wage demands for signing a new contract with someone else appear hefty - large expectations and all that.
Yep, took a few windows (after the Liverpool exodus) for me to get used to it, but it’s normal for me now and it’s not worth the energy getting annoyed at. I expect the majority of players we sign to act like knobs to get a move, and then when it happens you’re not annoyed. Anything else is just a happy bonus really.
Having Forster and Ely on the books does give us bargain power IF we want Edouard, I’d hope. If our model is to buy cheaper and sell high, I’d still look at Liam Delap from City, even on loan with an option.
Celtic have just signed Hart, so I doubt they’ll have any interest in Forster. Elyounoussi might be a good bargaining chip though.
