Reports in France yesterday evening said that the Swans are closing in on a move for Thomas Henry, a striker formerly of Nantes. Henry scored 21 goals in 31 appearances and was the second leading scorer in the Belgian League last season and was targetted by the Swans as the ideal replacement for Andre Ayew. The reports suggest that talks are still ongoing between the club and player but it is suggested that a move to South Wales is getting closer. We've (Cooper's) been fortunate in that respect but who can build anything with so much instability. I think managers are looking at us as somewhere short term to make a name and then move on.
Swansea City will travel to Forest Green Rovers for a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 28 (7pm). The Swans face the League Two side at The New Lawn as Steve Cooper’s side prepare for the 2021-22 Championship campaign. Swansea City will face Plymouth Argyle in a pre-season friendly as part of preparations for the 2021-22 Championship campaign. The game will take place at Home Park against the League One Pilgrims on Tuesday, July 20 with a kick-off time of 7pm. Plymouth finished 18th in League One during the 2020-21 campaign, under the guidance of former Bury boss Ryan Lowe. The clubs have not met in a competitive first-team fixture since a Championship game in February 2010.
Wales international Josh Sheehan is the latest player to join Bolton Wanderers ahead of our forthcoming Sky Bet League One campaign after signing a two-year deal, subject to international clearance. The 26 year-old midfielder played 53 games in all competitions for Newport County last season, including the Exiles’ two victories against Wanderers. Having started his career with Swansea City, he joined Yeovil Town on loan before signing for Newport in 2016. During his four-year tenure at Rodney Parade he made 179 appearances, finding the net on 15 occasions.
Deal done! Swansea City has agreed the transfer of Kyle Joseph from Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee, subject to EFL, FAW and FA clearance. The 19-year-old has agreed a four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium and will become the Swans first signing ahead of the 2021-22 Championship campaign. Striker Joseph has been with the Latics since the age of 13, and scored five goals in 20 appearances in all competitions last term, including a winner against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and a hat-trick against Burton. The previous campaign he was named Wigan’s academy player of the season after netting 23 goals in all competitions for their under-18 side. Joseph has also represented Scotland at under-18 and under-19 level.

I totally agree with you mate. I said weeks ago, that I would be happy to have a young youthful hungry squad, than for go a promotion push this season. We then go full tilt at it the following season, with these youngsters having a full season under their belt.

Declan John has signed a permanent deal with Bolton.
