36 years old Glenn Murray signs for Watford on a 12 month loan. His last hurrah. Sorry, I mean paypacket.
Another one we missed out on...... https://the72.co.uk/190295/middlesbrough-eyeing-up-loan-deal-for-west-brom-forward/
One for the future. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-starlet-signs-cardiff-18876698
No worries. The facts were a bit more hidden in my post. Good to see Harris trying to build a conveyer belt of players. Credit to the swans, they've produced a lot more young talent than we have recently. Hoping we'll join the party.
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co....iker-zimba-signs-cardiff-city-rovers-release/ One for the academy
Nin - he'll go straight into Morison's under 23 squad along with Denham. Both Harris and Morison have said they want to play much younger players at that level this season to bring them on. The principle is if players haven't established themselves with the club well before the age of 23, they probably never will. That's why Cameron Cox and Sion Spence amongst others were let go - I think there were about 10 of them who were shown the door.
Oddjob it is then......................... https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...ws/liverpool-transfer-news-sheyi-ojo-18889219
Underwhelmed by this if I’m being honest https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ws/cardiff-city-poised-sign-exciting-18889328
Not quite sure what to make of it myself Nin. Previous experience with loan players from the Merseyside clubs hasn't been great. Grujic and Niasse more recently, and the Everton duo of Matty Kennedy and Conor McAleny a few years back. IMO, all (including Grujic) were failures. I know he's got a wealth of talent up there, but if Klopp doesn't want Ojo around to learn from them, then he probably never will. Maybe he can find his level at City, but it's a calculated risk to bring a bit of pace to the flanks as Hoilett is definitely slowing down. A loan deal may be the prudent option, but it feels to me that we're trying to get through this season on the cheap. KM could be a great bit of business at around 2 mill, but we need more of that sort of ambition to be shown.
So we now have 5 wingers. Whyte has not set the world alight but is a solid option giving good defensive cover. Needs to work on playing in better quality crosses and scoring from time to time. Hoilett - probably his last season with us unless Ojo's signing ends with Hoilett going to Colin. Murphy - apparently our best player at Northampton which doesn't say much. Even then he had no influence on the game. NML - mystery personal absence on Saturday. I hope all is okay with his wife and baby. However perhaps he is angling for a move closer to home and that is in the pipeline. One has to go as 5 is too many. For preference, Murphy if we can get some money back. Could be Whyte on loan for game time. Possibly Hoilett to reunite with Colin for a last paypacket. Or even NML. Any bets?
I think a few will go out the door before long - particularly after that shambles on Saturday. One out to get one in? I'd take two or three out to get one in. We need some quality in the side and if getting rid of a few fringe players to get in less numerically is the way, then let's go for it.
Well the deal is done................. https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/loan-sheyi-ojo-joins-joins-liverpool
