Seen your results <rofl>

It means fitness and tactical awareness ffs. Grinds on me when people say it means nothing. Without preseason the 1st day of the season would be dreadful.

I’ve seen plenty of sides have great pre seasons and then bomb, and plenty the exact converse.

They’re about fitness. The first couple of weeks of the season are generally pretty **** anyway as players are nowhere near full match sharpness and you only get that from playing in truly competitive matches.

I agree to a certain extent but with new players coming in it's so important to get game time.

The results mean **** all. Fitness and team building is what it's about.

Wouldn't mind him or Butland tbh mate. Courtois has been cack for a couple of years now, but we've told Madrid that there's no deal until we have a replacement.
 
Pre-season was a complete Waste of time for us this summer. It was basically our reserves playing teams in The US.

De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Matic, Lingard, Rashford, Martial, Lukaku, Pogba, Fred, Fellaini, Rojo, Valencia and Jones all missed pre-season or most of it.

Feel your pain, Tel. We also had a US tour which 90% of our first team has missed.

Most return on Monday. So unless Poch has discovered a way to get the lads match fit within 5 days, Newcastle are probably gonna butcher us.
