I haven't been sure about the Hugill rumours as the sources on Twitter have been pretty unknown but our interest has been confirmed by Mirror sports writer Alan Nixon who I'm pretty sure was the guy who originally broke the news last summer that we had bid for Mounie, so he obviously has a bit of Intel.

Yeah, definitely gaining momentum Cookie. I've been holding off on one story (that he's having a medical next week and being offered a 3 year deal) because it's unverified. But there you are - you heard it here second.

The other report from this morning is that Fulham have made an enquiry about Steve Mounie again. Personally think we missed the boat with him having been close to signing last summer, reports state West Brom have also enquired and Lyon are interested. Having had a great season last year his asking price has risen to €15 million

Looks like he's being touted around Cookie with West Brom and Watford favourites. Thought this article summed things up nicely:

"A couple of days ago L’Equipe reported West Brom’s ‘concrete steps’ to sign Steve Mounie. The 22 year old Montpellier striker was also said to be attracting interest from Fulham, who had previously been interested during the January transfer window.

In their Saturday edition, L’Equipe report that Watford have now made an approach to sign Mounie, not making it clear whether that approach was direct to the player or to his club. Fulham are mentioned, with it being stated the London club offered €6m during the winter window, but obviously couldn’t get a deal done. Strangely, perhaps very strangely, West Brom don’t even get a mention. Not a word, L’Equipe don’t send a single nod towards their own reports just two days ago.

There’s every chance that someone in France is pushing the idea of interest in Mounie, and trying to flush out any genuine interest they can. So far the only constant has been Fulham, even if L’Equipe have now, in two articles in two days, put both West Brom and Watford ahead of them.

Montpellier want €10-15m. Maybe they’re panicking, because on Thursday they wanted something in the region of €15m
."

Know we went into summer time yesterday but blimey, still seems a bit early to be talking about the next transfer window. But the stories are starting.

First up is one from Turkey saying that we are more than just interested in Ferenbache striker Emmanuel Emineke.

"Emmanuel Emenike 'den Fenerbahce ' to Fulham ... the administration allowed the Nigerian player to make a transfer interview. It is reported that Emenike going to London will meet Fulham managers here.Emenike, who has a contract for another season and earns 2.5 million euros, has been promised that the bonservisin will be given free of charge in case of an agreement with Fulham."

A little bit confusing about him dashing over here since he's still on contract and not a free agent. Most probably something got lost in the translation and what is really meant is that Ferenbache have given us permission to talk to him with a view to a summer transfer.

The 29yr old Nigerian international spent some time at West Ham on loan last season; joining them in the January window. But that didn't work out. He then went to Turkey where it hasn't exactly worked out either; he's only had 17 games and managed 4 goals. Before all that however, he had two years at Spartak Moscow and that was a more productive time; he got 23 goals in 42 games.

No question the guy has a bagfull of skills though and can be a real handful. As evidenced in the obligatory video -

Well, Emmanuel Emineke "dashing over" didn't materialise. However, he's defintely not in Ferenbache plans according to latest reports .....

"The Nigerian striker looks set to leave Fenerbahce this summer because their new manager Aykut Kocaman doesn’t see the player in his plans for next season"

.... and his Agent is over here talking to someone.

Here's a list of the Premiership players who have been released.

Quite disappointed really - a few 'names' in there but none that I could even pluck out and suggest as worth a punt. Maybe someone out there can do better!?
The one I'd consider is Frazier Campbell, although that depends a lot on his wage demands and the role he'd expect in the team. If he were to come as Charlie Big-Potatoes, expecting Premier level money and a guaranteed start, then forget it. If he was willing to fight for a place and possibly - depending on who else we sign - spend some time on the subs bench, he just might be a great addition. He scored a lot of goals in his younger days, and maybe at this level he would fit nicely into our forward line. He'd be a bit of a gamble, but one worth taking if his attitude and expectations were okay. He's 29, so this could well be his last chance at really establishing himself somewhere before he starts to decline. If he finds the right club, he could be set to enjoy his best two or three years, why not do it with us?

Already thought about it two years ago it seems...

Welcome Trowley.

I'd take Campbell over, for instance Cyriac - who we are reported to be thinking of taking on loan again; Oostende saying he's not in their plans despite 2 years left on his contract. Neither are prolific goalscores but Campbell has the advantage of being more disciplined and with more nous. Running the channels and drawing players out of position, that sort of thing. Whereas Cyriac tends to be all over the place.

The downside of both is that they are tiny (Campbell is 5'8") and we've already got a fair few little guys.

Thinking about going back a few years Trowley, I see Wolfsburg have released Ashkan Dejagah.

Two names that have popped up as Fulham being interested. Tom Ince of Derby & Scott Arfield Burnley attacking midfielder.
For me you get 10-15 good games out of Ince a season the other times he's a passenger.
Scott Arfield (£2.5m) being chased by us WBA & Hull City, can't say I've noticed him much as an outstanding player, may be a low cost backup for Johansen ?

Another centre back in the frame. Strong rumours in Spanish papers that we're close to signing Marcelo Djalo from Segundo Division side CD Lugo.

"The Lugo leader, Tino Saqués, attended the journalists after having presented a fry soccer tournament organized by his club, and noted that the transfer of Djaló is pending formalization.

"It is possible that Marcelo (Djaló) goes to England, but there are things that have to be formalized, closed and well shaped. It is a step closer to England", acknowledged the largest shareholder of the Lugo club.
"

The article points out that while we're not specifically mention by the club exec, it is indeed us.

The 24 year old who came through the Barcelona set up, signed a 2 year contract with Lugo last summer but spent his first season on loan to Juventus.

An update from Ali Mac at last week's meeting with the FST -

"AM reiterated his words, and those of Tony Khan and Huw Jennings at the Trust’s end of season dinner, that the Club are confident of retaining all their key first-team players for the forthcoming season. AM also stated that Ryan Sessegnon remains registered with Fulham as a youth scholar, so he is not in the out of contract situation that the Club experienced with Moussa Dembele last summer.

The Club is keen to strengthen the playing squad and is working hard towards that end: AM suggested that one signing is due to be announced very shortly.

AM indicated that all of the players who had been on loan with the Club during the 2016-2017 season would like to remain, but that deals to retain or purchase them would be pursued only at the instigation of Slavisa Jokanovic.

He further revealed that the completion of deals at this stage in the transfer window is largely dictated by the pace of the market, which is very quiet at the moment, and a number of targets are waiting to see if there is interest from Premier League clubs before committing to a move. AM also asserted that he felt Fulham were now a much more attractive proposition for potential signings than at the start of last season and the Club would be doing everything possible to support Slavisa Jokanovic’s push for promotion."

Had to listen to Talksport this morning - only way for me to follow the rugby - at half time they had a betting slot and they covered where was John Terry going. Villa or Birmingham were favourites, but the only other club quoted was us! Could he do us a turn? Still a good defender and loads of experience - I don't think much of him as a man, but who knows?..??? Anybody else come across this rumour - apparently ou odds have been halved in the last 24 hours.

Can't see this happening when we're said to be needing pace at the back. Think Terry played with Jokanovic when he was at the Dark Side but you have to reckon the Gaffer's limbs have survived the years the better of the two -

Bit of trouble and strife over this guy, according to the local paper. They say he's been identified as a target by our analytics but the coaching staff [ie the Gaffer] have reservations that he wouldn't be worthwhile.

The paper goes on to say that there could be a compromise in the offing and Djalo may come in as a replacement for Cameron Burgess in the U23 squad, as opposed to adding him to their first team straight away.

Could Mamadou Thiam be Cyriac's replacement? Plenty of talk about that he's close to joining.

The 22 year centre forward from Senegal, with joint French nationality, is not huge - 5'9" in his stocking soles - but said to be quick and very mobile. He's currently with 2nd division side Clermont on contract till 2018 and had last season on loan to Dijon. Not pricey - £700k? - but could be a bargain find.

Or could Omar Eddahri be our alternative choice?

The 26 year old Swede national was born in France and is out of contract with 2nd division side AFC Eskilstuna in December but is open to a pre-contract agreement from 1st July. Apparently we're sending someone to watch their game against Malmo at the weekend to cast an eye over him.

Not a big club by any means and one with a chequered, nomadic history AFC Eskilstuna have delivered some names to the game; possibly the most obvious from our view being 'Dench' Frimpong.

Having been on cloud nine yesterday following Sessegnon signing today there a rumours flying around that Kalas will now be coming to Fulham and not Hull and could be announced in the next few days.. This is almost better than the actual season.

Recent reports stated we were close to signing Rolan from Bordeaux but it now sounds like Fenerbache have turned up to the party late on. Come on Fulham get Kalas and Rolan done and bring on the season.
